just thinking, people keep saying most application cant fully utilize our current 4CORE CPU.
Is there any reason to even get 8CORE Bulldozer?

Hope someone fix this thinking of mine so that ill anticipating bulldozer release!

folding@home smp client definitely will take advantage of this 8 cores cpu. wink.gif

Basically we could have 4 cores running games and the other four running on clients. brows.gif

I was just wondering the temp on 4 cores running clients. Anyone running all cores? Curious about the temp.

If say, 8 cores running wouldn't be the chip would be a bit hot? hmm.gif

Lol saturn is folding freak. tongue.gif
Temp would be depend on what cooler you are using and you are oc or not.
the 8 cores bulldozer is 32nm chip, smaller fabrication = can put more transistors, or more cores, lower power consumption and less heat than the phenom II 45nm manufacturing process.

hehe, most games use 2 cores,
so 6 cores can be used to run the folding@home client. brows.gif
but there are still games can utilize 4 cores. tongue.gif

i m running the client on all cores.
cpu temperature around 51'c.
not as hot as prime95. brows.gif

yea, like bro 1024kbps say,
the 8 cores cpu is 32nm part.
altough 8 cores are running,
but still less heat. brows.gif

For reviews don't expect it to be outstanding, it's just value RAM after all.

According to some sources, AMD planned to bundle all-in-one water cooling solution with their 8 cores, FX-8000 series processor. That includes copper-based cpu clock, huge radiator with fans and more. But until now, there is no news whether it is for whole FX-8000 series or just highest end model (FX-8150). Also, no news on AMD to choose which manufacturer's solution.

The top model of Bulldozer is around 300 US dollar, while all-in-one water cooling solution costs around 60-70 US dollar. This shows the bundle is possible.

This action from AMD is to improve the Bulldozer processor's OC ability, also improves the image of itself from DIY-ers and enthusiasts.

Or a desperate action to stay relevant if BD remains woefully inefficient and overclocking is the only way to compete with Intel on performance.
