which cpu's price did he reduced? curious to know  biggrin.gif
*
AMD's Bulldozer FX series. <-- e.g. FX8150 down by RM100+

Piledriver FX-8350 Pre-order Price: USD 253 (RM772) --> Malaysia --> RM872 (USD 285.85)

Trinity A10-5800k Pre-order Price: USD 131.45 (RM402) --> Malaysia --> RM502 (USD164.56)

Disclaimer: All prices are pure speculation!! laugh.gif but + USD30 (Malaysian Retailers Profit) VS + USD40++(international shipping rates) buying from E-Bay yawn.gif

In Malaysia, Trinity APU and Vishera retail price will definitely get stuck until 1 month before Steam Roller comes out doh.gif and AMD now have Wii U sales to back them up so who knows..

Vishera CPU in 23 October 2012?

Dear shalzkasbsp,

I can't believe you bought doh.gif an Llano APU now. October 2 might be the release date for the Trinity APUs. If you get it for RM < 300 than its a bargain but if you paid RM 380~400, try to return it...

My Llano APU, A6-3650 costs me RM250 on early July & a new board costs RM200. It works fine but I did wish
I researched well that a new APU is just around the corner.

If nothing can be done, get 1600GHz Ram. The iGPU performance will be boosted. XD

Don't know if it had been posted or not. Good news for someone who bought AM3+ mobo like me recently, looks like Steamroller coming to AM3+ after all. 5 years warranty mobo with support for upcoming CPU is big win, one of few reason I stick with AMD.

AMD sticks with Socket AM3+ for Steamroller.

Is somebody noticing about the new FX processors? What do you guys think about the FX-8300? I think it is much better because it has a lower wattage than the other FX-8xxx series.

Amazon's Hike Up Price

There's a chance that AMD Malaysia will rise up their Trinity's APUs price at launch date.

Amazon is selling Trinity A10-5800k for RM443 (USD144.50) with free shipping. If the *great AMD Malaysia raise the price to RM500, please refrain from buying and get it from NewEgg Malaysia instead.

BTW, Pre-Order Price of Trinity A10-5800k is RM403 (USD 131.45).

@ russell612,
even if you switch on your pc for more than 6 hours a day, nothing will change although the TDP decrease by 30W unless your pc monitor is energy-saving, mobo not older than 5 years, cpu and gpu not oced whole year long..

Edited: zhen^wei has joined the price cuts cult started by AMD Malaysia...

AMD Announces Retail Availability of A-Series "Trinity" Desktop APUs
QUOTE
AMD today announced retail and distribution channel availability of its second generation AMD A-Series Accelerated Processing Units (APUs) for desktop, small form-factor and home theater PCs. These new APUs target do-it-yourself (DIY) PC builders, mainstream gamers and value-added resellers who want to upgrade their PC infrastructure with affordable performance, discrete-level graphics, multiple cores and fast processing for outstanding responsiveness.

The second generation desktop AMD A-Series APU is available at prices ranging from $53 to $122 USD. Compared to similarly priced competitive offerings, the new APUs offer more cores, more speed, best-in-class entertainment experiences and an easy upgrade path based on a stable socket infrastructure. AMD APU users also gain access to the AMD AppZone and a comprehensive list of accelerated applications that leverage the full compute power of the APU. With hardware-accelerated support for DirectX 11 on AMD Radeon graphics and AMD Eyefinity technology delivering a more immersive experience, the AMD A-Series APUs are the ideal solution for systems running the highly-anticipated Microsoft Windows 8 and today's Microsoft Windows 7 operating systems.

RM397 (USD130) for Trinity A10-5800k @ NewEgg. drool.gif

AMD Malaysia?? I will jump ship to NewEgg Malaysia if the *great AMD Malaysia sets the price to RM500.

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Edited: If anyone noticed, Llano A8-3870k is still selling over RM350 even in LowYat so Trinity will never be RM400. The 1st price list will make me jump ship to NewEgg Malaysia.

@djlah,

RM425 (USD140) for ASUS F2A85-V PRO FM2

Yes, top-end FM2 mobo is more expensive than top-end FM2 APUs, sad cry.gif

If price of ASUS F2A85-V PRO FM2 + AMD Trinity Trinity A10-5800k is more than RM900, might as well buy from NewEgg Malaysia whistling.gif

Don't forget, RAMs are cheaper in NewEgg thumbup.gif

If we can indeed get prices at about that range, this chip is an option over buying an i3.

This is especially true if the user is going to use Full Disk Encryption, like Truecrypt, because the i3 doesn't have hardware support for encryption but the Trinity does.

Intel will lower their prices to combat AMD's FM2 so wait longer, maybe 2 months tops? Besides, who will forget FM1's glorious upgrade life? Steamroller will bring higher performance in 2013. My Llano A6-3650 will just have to last til then. An Intel i3 is around RM400 too. This might justify AMD Malaysia's price hike. They are preparing to lower the price anytime... rclxub.gif Too bad US sales growth will be better than in Malaysia and there will be 5% Job Reduction @ AMD.

There are rumors that Trinity A10-5800k iGPU performance is at best the level of AMD Radeon 6670, and its cpu core are just closing the level of i3, Sandy Bridge core.

Trinity's Resonant Clock Mesh

To summarize, Trinity performs close to Intel's i3 Sandy Bridge + = performance with AMD HD Radeon 6670. However, it has poor FPU performance being a Bulldozer Hybrid + North Bridge and has higher power draw than Llano. It might not cross-fire with AMD HD Radeon 7770 too. Steamroller will be released in Q2 2013 so I will be waiting for them XD

@djlah, Asus F2A85-M
RM 387.50 (USD124.99) + Shipping RM 85.00
