Hmmm, so is there any BD processor that is around the price range of i3 2100 or cheaper but better?

1 hour left until reviews are up. storm88: Shops should be stocking up tomorrow no?
http://www.ozeros.com/2011/10/review-amd-bulldozer-fx-8150/ Bulldozer seems to hold promise in MT apps. |

look like ozeros review show that AMD still behind i7 2600 even i5 2500 in gaming.
If the price is really according to current market price the only worth to try bulldozer will be fx 4100 compare to i3 2100 |

QUOTE(billytong @ Oct 12 2011, 09:25 AM) They could spoil AMD launch if they really wanted to cut the price down, dont forget SB can officially run 3.6Ghz @ stock volt. 2700K is just 3.5GHz. If I were Intel, releasing a newer product that is 100MHz higher and about RM100 more than the previous is a way better strategy. They stand to gain nothing by reducing their prices as AMD is never a threat to begin with. Like I said before even if BD is a unbelievably good CPU that excels in ST and MT tasks and totally blows i7 out of the water, AMD cannot keep up with the demand like Intel could. GloFlo is a small fab and can't pump out the volume or yield like Intel's fabs could. If I were Intel shareholder, I would personally love to take this chances to kill AMD down to VIA size. There is absolutely no reason to have a competitor keep messing with you. Monopoly is most if not all businessman ultimate goal. Although it is very possible to oppose the competition to submission, there are antitrust laws that protects and prevents monopoly. There is really no upside to AMD being brought down. If AMD does go down one day, we could probably see at least some price increase on Intel products just because everybody needs a PC these days and you can't do much even if the price increased. Intel's monopoly is not like the monopoly you could find like a local shop or small to medium business would because even if a shop reduces its price to kill its neighboring competitor and monopoly a certain area, there will definitely be someone to replace the one that has fallen. When AMD goes down, there is no one to take its place as a x86 competitor. Even if the x86 license is transferred to another company there is no guarantee that the new company will be releasing new products for another decade. Hmm... not what I'd go for right now... AMD has always been good at price/performance ratio but this new line doesn't really stick to that concept / ideal anymore it seems although I'd welcome the FX8150 results to be better than the i5 but the price point is killing the interest really...

bulldozer is truly a disappointment, some benchmark even lost to phenom II x6, plus high power consumption also, amd, please dont mess up with the future "enhanced bulldozer" we need competitive cpu

The disappointment here is not unexpected, considering how they have been delaying the launch and Intel's overall financial and technology superiority. Take note that the following generation, a 32nm Piledriver, is supposed to only give 10-15% better performance. Intel's Ivy Bridge 22nm process shrink on the other hand, should give it around 50% better performance on top of their current performance advantage.
In any case, this is troublesome for me. I was hoping to replace my system this year and I could use BD's AES-NI, but it would be much cheaper for me to get an X6 and it would enable me to upgrade to Trinity (with Piledriver) next year. |

The performance is simply disappointing,it's only a bit faster than a Phenom II clock for clock [sometimes even slower,WTH AMD?]
No wonder it has been delayed this long,if it was launched earlier it wouldn't stand a chance at all. |
