so i guess no point getting unifi if one want to play online with oversea player unless you play with local player. the option is to stick with the not-so-high-speed-broadband offer by TM.

however, i thought that unifi fix the lagging problem in online game....

All unifag gives its consumers is faster download speed and higher upload speed.
The latency to overseas is still absolute crap.

really ?

wat u need to adjust ??

it seems i need to download the update from scratch when i SYSTEM UPDATE on my ps3

or thru sign in psn.. informing me i have to update

both i have to update from scratch....

No settings required.
If its the first time, it'll take time.
After that it should be quick.

Also, for older PS3s (these PS3s are CECHG/CECHH and earlier units) which had a 128mb of flash space dedicated for firmwares, updating through the PS3 will be slow as the system cannot just dump files and overwrite new ones on a flash memory.

The newer PS3s (particulary after the 80GB revisions) places the firmware files on the HDD instead as there was no more flash memory dedicated for firmware files.
So then the system could overwrite only the needed files.

hope MKV support directly to PS3 to be release soon smile.gif

no need Media Server

Bluray sales will then suffer... tongue.gif
But I think .mkv is a much needed format that should be supported by any sort of media player.

thanks dark_heart ... so from usb pendrive, ps3 cant play mkv file.

i manage to play the files from media server, but like every 6 to 7second, the video stop or like hangs for 1 sec.. very frustrating. Anyone know what settings can be done at media server or the codecs??? thanks in advance..

If the game has any slightest bit of online, even if it is leaderboards... your download will pause.
Its been like that since years ago.

I have no issues downloading for games still actually.
I can confirm because I finished downloading ME2 demo the other day when I was playing Castlevania.

And Vanquish also despite the fact it has leaderboards, I finished downloading some episodes of The Tester S2 when playing.

As for GT5, it is online... so obviously, it'll pend.

Why would anyone wanna save on server?
Game saves are so tiny in size.... and with streamyx, you don't know when your connection will be down.

QUOTE(Dreamworks @ Feb 9 2011, 10:58 PM)
Hi,

Wanna ask... Any of you experience hangs/lock-ups in the middle of a game? Mine happened for the 1st time just now. Was playing Ratchet & Clank (only a lowly 720p game), and was happily fighting a boss battle when the sound suddenly cut-off and the whole screen went black blink.gif All buttons on the DS3 are of no use, so I just powered off the unit via its power button (the only button left which works), the PS3 also made a few beeps before shutting down.

Any ideas what went wrong? Overheat? Firmware issues? I'm on 3.56v1 btw...

Thanks!

320GB Slim, MY set... Bought about a month or two ago nod.gif

Added on February 9, 2011, 11:05 pmForgot to mention, I was also downloading a game from PSN while playing. And the PS3 can still start normally after that issue.

Nothing to worry about.
The occasional lock up, especially when you're downloading also.

Many games (in which case this time, R&C for you) sets your HDD for data access.
This is to cut down on load times (primarily..), but downloading while playing may introduce lock-ups here and there sometimes.

Not a big issue.
You can take a check that games which installs data on the PS3 will take longer to load when your downloading something.
Games which doesn't install, but uses the HDD as a pre-fetch space will also take longer to load as well.
