QUOTE(pirateguy @ Sep 13 2010, 10:24 AM) Like codyx always say there is no lousy phone there is only lousy owners. Even before nokia n8 thread there is already many owners but only a handful knows how to use it. For me both phone have their own pros and cons like every other model and brand in the marketNo offense to you or anyone if you do not know how to use it you will say it sux like every single task in the world. Some say their job sux life sux because they do not know how to enchance their own life. Even with N8 after 1 or 2 weeks u do not know how to utlize u say it sux too then change phone again This post has been edited by aspire2oo6: Sep 13 2010, 10:36 AM |

QUOTE(zoolf @ Sep 13 2010, 10:38 AM) Yes. It depends on yer own judgement and capabilities. But for me, every new product will always be better than it's Yeah i agree so lets be optimistic in every phone. Nokia N8 have its flaws too but more advantages over certain models. The main selling point its the camera feature and overall performance. It gives a normal user everything he/she needs in one with the latest technology in hardware and software. QUOTE(WaytoDawn @ Sep 13 2010, 12:11 PM) Is that the maemo OS? Doesn't look familiar to me... that is dual boot. He showing you that Nokia N900 is capable to run Android OS and also its original OSO aka Maemo 5You've got a good point there. Of course the lower the price, the better the deal. * free is still the best tho! Its like a MAC computer able to boot either MAC OS or windows XP |

QUOTE(super_evil_alien @ Sep 13 2010, 12:50 PM) There is 1 thing which interest me very much right now. Maybe due to QT. All applications starting from Nokia N900 and all above are easily port among OS doesnt matter is it Meego, Symbian 3 or Maemo 5. So if future Symbian^3 applications/games able to run on Nokia N900 tooAngry Birds still haven't be released to Symbian phones in OVI stores right? If yes then how come most of the preview N8's have it installed? Does that mean that Maemo's games if written under QT can run in any Symbian^3 phones without package conversion? This post has been edited by aspire2oo6: Sep 13 2010, 12:53 PM |

QUOTE(Andy214 @ Sep 13 2010, 07:26 PM) Totally agreed! Simple is good, but if there is no room for advancement, the user will forever stuck in that level and when they see some more customizable or advance features phone, they'll will find it hard to use and lack interest. This is another way to maintain your customer to your product. +1 maybe they think its not a potential market or something but eventually they try it as wellA good product should be easy/simple, YET provide options to turn on advance features. At least most smartphone OS is trying to make it easy/simple, yet they have advance features for the users, unlike ONE of the fruit OS. As for Maemo, initially, it never meant to be sold in APAC, and it was also to fulfill it's predecessor (N8xx, N7xx) models users. Since the availability of phone functionality, many non-tablet users have bought it (US and Europe) and also complains at the maemotalk forum. It may not suit everyone, but it doesn't mean it's bad for everyone. Look at the real experts users, and those that is very interested and excited in this product. India has many of Linux lover, and they're so excited with this N900 that they're importing this phone from US/Europe, their magazine reviewed this product in so many pages. Even in HK, there're so many interested and expert on the N900/Linux, their launching was so detailed with so many technicals mentioned. Of course, to normal users, it's nothing special. N900/Maemo lacks of proper phone features found in most phones today, and the OS is not well polished, plus there is lack of proper ram. The main problem is marketing of the phone and how people thought it is the most powerful device; Technically, it's a powerful device and great OS, but does it mean it is the best/good for everyone? People tend to get the wrong idea and buy the wrong phone, just like what you mentioned lousy owners picked the wrong product. For people looking for simplicity and ease of use, they will classify simplicity and ease of use as good/best. It simply depends on what each individual's preferences. No phone is best for everyone, but there can be phone that is best/good for many/majority. I can only say, it is nice to have different choices for different category of people, but sadly, Maemo OS will no longer be available. As for MeeGo, some/many don't find it replaceable for Maemo because MeeGo looks like Android instead. Maemo looks very different from typical Smartphone OS, which have it's own category of users. Now this category of users will have to start switching... |
