Working part time normally doesnt require any application of National Insurance, but for some employer, they will need you to apply for it.

ANother one thing that I would like to share is for those who is coming over, best is dont stay in all the time for pps. You might regret by the time you go back as you should spend more time exploring the local places, meeting new people and stuff.  smile.gif

Many of my friends came, sticked together all the time and pps most of their free time. After 1 year completion of their degree, it's time to back and I am wondering if how they would discribe when people ask them how's England like ..  blush.gif

For those who is coming for more than 1 year study, i would recommend to apply for internship which they call it work placement in here, it can be 3 months contract or up to 12 months. It is really a good experience where you will get involved in many new things and stuff which will strongly benefit your future career.  nod.gif

Oh dear.....next you will be thinking of cooking pots and pans. There are some really useful companies that caters specifically to new university students. Here's just one of them:

http://www.all-unied.com/acatalog/index.html

You can order it now and it will arrive at your residence in university BEFORE you arrive. Don't fancy even 1 night without blanket etc.

i thought someone said earlier, there is no need for a medical in student visa application?.........
*
Need, the kastam in Uk will randomly choose some of the ppl, if the person don have the medical check up,it will require to do the check up thr which is expensive and a lot of ppl, so is better to do here first.

so it's immigration (or what they call border control) (not customs lah!), or the uni student health that wants it?........

and what is it precisely that they want?.........it's no point saying they want a medical without specifying what exactly.......contrary to popular belief, you cannot have a 'full medical checkup'.........there is no end to tests that can potentially be done to detect illness........you have to be clear WHICH set of illness you are looking for.....
*
Oppss, my bad......so far i only did 4 test,HiV,hepetites b,morphine and (forget liao), plus a x-ray.
