Now i set my fsb to 460*9 1.288vcore... stable.. idle 52C under non-aircon... I wan to ask tht the highest safe vcore of E8400 E0 is? And also wad is the temperature limit? 80C ++ still safe? (when full load)
*
for me, there is no highest save vcore. if my cooler can handle the temp thn it consider ok for me. btw what cooler u using, at 460*9 1.288vcore non-aircon your idle temp should be 33 to 42c? 52c idle a bit high, the safe temperature for me la is below 75c 80c ++ still ok ,reach 100c will restart itself, wont kaboom one tongue.gif

cry.gif  cry.gif  i tot it oredi go to stable after 35mins at core 0 failed & stopped...but the others still running..

but i stopped all of them..

here my setting at bios :-

CPU - 1.37v
NB - 1.5v
SB - 1.5v
FSB - 1.37v
RAM 2.1v
Enable LLC
GTL 0 - +20
      1 - +20

and it only last 35mins on Prime95 Large Torture.. shakehead.gif

any idea guys?...still trying to get stable on 3.8Ghz...

bro kilo watt, are you sure u nid 1.5v for p45 to stable? i think 1.3x is more than enough lo

bro kilowatt, i think ur nb voltage can lower some more, i use 1.2v to stable at 450fsb (core2duo), but i think quad add 0.02 or 0.04 should be enough. p45 at 1.44v can achieve 6xx fsb already. and 1.4v for daily use not so healthy for ur nb too.

btw, the memset i not know so well to but i try to tell u the thing that i knew about the memset.
the timing and performance level very affect the performance of ram (lower is better)
(timing affect latency, performance level affect latency and bandwidth)
i show some example for u.

Performance level 8
user posted image

Performance level 10
user posted image

as u can c the bandwidth is lower and the latency is higher when performance level is higher.
but when u using high fsb , it is not easy to stable at lower performance level, u need a good ram first.

another option in memset i not very clear also(may b lower is better?) , need another pros to explain for u.

correct me if i am wrong. thank you

dominator 8500 a... , i cant say it good or not, coz not use it b4, but if u really need good overclock ability 2x2g, u can consider gskill pi series. btw i am running 4x1gb setting.

Go to bios set, if u set at memset after restart will chg back to default.
Go bios find "Ai Transaction Booster" set to manual, then got one menu call "Common Performance Level" show up, u can set at here.
Before you set u use memset set at the performance level value that you want, run some stability program , confirm stable then you set at the bios.

the thing i told is some review teach me too, just share with you.

btw, for 2x2gb good oc ability ram that is seen from review is Gskill super pi series, OCZ blade Low voltage series. 2 also hard to get in Malaysia doh.gif

4x1GB will expensive than 2x2g, and required more voltage and more hard to oc compare to 2 stick ram.

bro kilowatt, before u wanna change ram, test first, or else will waste money.
usually , if ram running at same frequency , but use lower pl value will require a higher voltage to stable, u try to pump up your ram voltage and test first.

good start, bro killowatt. rclxms.gif try stress it with some stability program as well,if can also try to lower the refresh cycle time as well, effect the ram performance too.

welcome to overclocking world rclxms.gif
in this situation , u need go to bios , find cpu configuration , and disable EIST and C1E then you can run at full speed all the time.
