PCI-E frequency doesn't help overclocking in terms of speed. However, it was reported that some overclockers tweak the PCI-E frequency to achieve stability in extreme overclocking. Also reported that high PCI-E frequency can damage your rig e.g. more than 120mhz.

For normal overclocking, it is advisable not to touch the PCI-E frequency. 

The increase would not be noticeable as the performance of games usually depends more on the graphic card rather than the processor. Furthermore, even if a game does rely on the processor, an increase of 100mhz is not much. You would only probably be able to see the difference if you run benchmarking programs that measure the fps....

I have no experience with the Q9000-series but maybe you didn't push the pushpins in properly? Or are you using the S&S?

AS5 is kinda old.... better thermal paste available here are Tuniq TX-2 and AS MX-1/MX-2....
I've been away from the overclocking scene for some time now but as far as I know, the thermalright ultra 120 extreme (TRUE) and the IFX-14 are the best. They are however, quite expensive. The Xigmatek S1283 is a good price:performance cooler....

u will have to prime it for a few hours to consider it as stable. its not just a matter of changing the bios settings and decide its stable when u can boot into windows.

yes, it does take a lot of time.
