Did you get a chance to test out and see what are the Prime stable settings?

That's what I'm trying to say What's the point to compare a non stable settings with someone which is trying to get his processor to run stable at a certain speed I can also post a 4.8Ghz screenie and say I only need 1.45Vcore (if you get what I mean)

hmm.. getting 5ghz stable is impossible for me unless i have a better cooling system... still trying to get 4.5ghz stable with lowest possible vcore...

is there any chances i can get 4.5ghz with

i just scare about the temps on my HSF

if overclock too high or unstable it hang right. it won't burn the mobo right. afraid i overclock it burn.

Was an AMD oc-er before and this is the first time oc-ing Intel. Seems like 4ghz mission is completed today morning and finished stressing just now

btw, what's you mean about set up ur ram speed twice ur fsb? Incase my fsb is 200, i need to make it 400? Lol, i got confius which one is the real fsb, got 2 right? Rated FSB is 800 and real fsb is 200..

Hi guys, i just got this new Cpu Q8300 @ 2.5Ghz ( I know it's not good as Q6600 or Q9x50 series OC), i think it's bottleneck my gpu so i decide to OC this one (not sure though.. 3D Vantage GPU score 16k stock, 18k OC lol)
I manage to get stable to 3.5Ghz. The problem is my temp, 73-75c after 2 hour prime test.
Tcase for this cpu is 71.4c and Tj.Max 100c. Im a noob at this so..is this ok? for 24/7 use?
If i play games, max temp only reach 64-65c only.

My setting :

Vcore : 1.21v
Memory : 1.908v @ 934Mhz (auto at 5-6-6-18)
Mch : 1.304v
Vtt : 1.21v
Ich : 1.52v (set to default manual, auto set it to 1.6)
(Spread spectrum, C1E,Speedstep etc. all disable)
The rest is auto

it has nothing to do with vcore it even boot twice when I OC only 100Mhz. I even up by to 1.3v for just 3.3 GHz. it even pass prime95 <--well obvious.... for 3.3 lol

E5800 is known to work a lot higher without problems.  The real problem is as long as I am overclock even by little I get to boot twice b4 I enter into window.

Can someone that have better knowledge answer me this please?

Hi there OC Sifus , I have just been learning to OC and this is my OC test machine before i move on to my SB build. Just want some opinion on the Vcore ( which i set to auto ) . Been running Prime95 for 9 hours now , goin for 12 hours. The Temp are ok i think . But perhaps , u guys with much more exp can give some better opinion this. Thank you. Hi,newbie in here in overclocking,
I use q6600 and mobo p35ds3l.
Quick question,is it normal the vcore is drop during stressing?
Because using cpuz,the idle voltage is 1.23v eventhough in bios I manually set 1.275v.Then,during stress the voltage reading is 1.20v.
Is there tools that accurately read the vcore?

Got it.but when I push the proc to 3 GHz then run prime 95,after several minutes, the core number 1 is failed the test.
it prompt message like this,"FATAL ERROR: Rounding was 0.5, expected less than 0.4
Hardware failure detected, consult stress.txt file.",
Any comment?During this,the vcore I set to 1.2815v if not mistaken.

Just change mobo,still run prime 95 at 3GHz,seems stable.

Hi,I set to stock voltage which is for my mobo it detect at 1.275v.
And run prime 95 for about 4 hours it is still stable.
But,after I shutdown the pc,and switch off the power at plug,
Then when I want to turn on the pc, it behave like this,
When I push power button,the pc is on for several seconds and then shut off by itself,
Then after several second it will turn on back again and boot as normal.
It is normal?

haha... that's right. but need to change a great cpu cooler first.. maybe CM812 or noctua b4 go more higher OC and hyperX ram or corsair vengeance.  now i use kingston value ram only.. plus need to change to bigger casing also. my casing now is aerocool vs3. not good enough for airflow.haf-X
or CM stryker is better. OC is just not achieve a highest frequency, but u need to think all aspect that maybe can make ur system unstable for a long period..
