I installed Windows 7 on my Boot Camp and installed Starcraft 2, after I click the icon of Starcraft2 it prompt out this error message:

"The videocard is not accessable because no display drivers are installed, another 3D application has exclusive access or the machine was locked. Please close any 3D applications or games and try starting Starcraft II again. If the problem persists, for more information consult our support website at http://starcraft2.com/support"

I'm using:
iMac 3.06GHz, Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB RAM
256 MB NVIDIA GeForce 9400

I think it suit enough to play Starcraft 2 unfortunately the above error message gave me some problem. I tried VMware fusion, Windows 7 play but the game is very slow because the graphics is shared within my iMac memory. Did anyone know how to solve this?

Yes, you are correct, Starcraft II has the mac version on the same disc.

Maybe thread starter wants to play it in windows to get better FPS, seems that there are issues with Snow Leopard opengl, low FPS on starcraft II on Macs, hopefully there will be a fix with the next update.

Any Mac pro users with ATI 4870 can confirm this?

The update fix has been released last week -
http://www.macrumors.com/2010/08/17/apple-...raphics-update/

After I installed the update, I have no issue playing starcraft 2 on Mac, where previously the game crash randomly.
I am playing on Mid 2010 Mac Mini, Core 2 Duo 2.4GHz, Nvidia 330m, with medium setting, cap the FPS at 30, running flawlessly and acceptable.

Same here as well, running medium settings on my early 2008 Macbook Pro with 2.4Ghz and 4Gb of RAM and a 8600m nVidia card.

The patch only fixed the crashing issues, in terms of frame rates, the patch should be included in the next Mac update, 10.6.5 if I am not mistaken.

Yeah, hopefully it does fix the low frame rates on high end cards like the 4870 and 5770 on the old and new mac pros. Seen a few users posting an increase in framerates on the beta 10.6.5 update.

Waiting patiently for the next update.

Just like the other guys said, play it on mac, to me there is not much difference. The update just launch after i finishd the game. Not only i have to suffer the game hard play, i also have to gamble on the crashing time, suddebly just crash like that..haih
