Hi there, I realized Eaget M9 stop my torrent download by itself, when i visit it's torrent page, I cannot see anything. It required me to reboot M9 to see my task, and after awhile, my task disappear from the page again, so and again, i need to reboot... *keep on repeating...

Zhen Wei, I also realized another problem with M9 that's the ethernet file transfer run VERY slow, it's only about 5mb/s. Please let the manufacturer know as well. btw, is there any ftp/telnet/ssh daemon running on the unit? if possible, ask the manufacturer to include it.. TQ very much.

Realtek SDK4 Beta 2 can be found there... btw, realized ICONBIT HDS52L do have a better interface. maybe those with RTD1073 can play with its firmware? <ha?! can brick???>

zhen^wei, Got myself a Yamaha 7.1 amplifier, and I realized there are BUGs in Eaget M9 HDMI/Optical output.

Problem 1, using Optical
1.0 there's NOT multi PCM output! It only down-stream to 2.CH or RAW.
1.1 if file is encoded to 6-channels AAC, and output set to RAW, no sound come out.
1.2 if file is encoded to 6-channels AAC, and amplifier detect 2 channels.
--notes, forgotten to try AC3 using RAW, coz optical cable already plugged-out.

Problem 2, Using HDMI
2.0 if file is encoded to 6-channels AC3, and output set to RAW, no problem. amplifier detect it's 6-channels.
2.1 if file is encoded to 6-channels AC3, and output set to MULTI PCM CH, amplifier detect only 2-Channels.
2.2 if file is encoded to 6-channels AAC, and output set to RAW, no-sound come out from amplifier.
2.2 if file is encoded to 6-channels AAC, and output set to MULTI PCM CH, no-problem. amplifier detect it's 6-channels.

hope you forward the problems to Eaget developer. hope they can enhance the Optical output, and solve the HDMI Multi PCM CH on 6-channels AC3 problems which outcome only 2-channels. Thanks.

this time i'm sure, no further correction, please forward to developer. maybe they should do this, if it's NOT AC3/DTS/TrueHD/DoblyHD or anything that which is standard sound stream to amplifier during HDMI sound set to RAW, do the conversion, otherwise just by-pass. <should be very easy to fix the bug>

zhen^wei, I flash to the lastest Eaget M9 firmware that provided by you, and I do notice the lastest firmware they removed ALMOST all the IMS except Voole, youtube, youku, and a useless PPS. Can I have old firmware back? eg. tv.sohu is very good, they shouldn't get it remove. Really hope they will add those back on later firmware, even they are unusable in Malaysia, who knows some user might run China/HK VPN server to watch online-streaming. Hope you can host back the old firmwares.

Okay, I've manage to add hdpfans IMS into Eaget M9 with firmware "M9 : V20110120A" provided by Zhen^Wei.
~I tried to use the lastest firmware which is more clean, but... it's only clean out-side, inside the got tonnes of .rss files, and I can't figure out which is the one controlling the IMS menu. so... I gave up and use "M9 : V20110120A" firmware instead.

Very easy, use follow the instruction from http://www.hdpfans.com/thread-5792-1-1.html but FEW things, after "cp" (copy) into the new etc/scripts folder, just rm (remove) the [map] and [weather] folder, coz they consume most of the space, and they are totally useless tools. edit the menu_eaget_m9.rss with "vi", and OVERRIDE the weather link, follow the instruction on the http://www.hdpfans.com/thread-5792-1-1.html, BUT try to skip the "echo" part, if you do, thou it will works, but it only work after "30" seconds of sleep. so.. try to "vi /usr/local/etc/rcS" and add the "mount -o bind /usr/local/etc/scripts /usr/local/bin/scripts" on top of #wait HDD mount. So that you don't need to wait the HDD to wake-up, but can immediately access to the editted IMS menu.

~why adding hdpfan to IMS? reason, it comes with alot of custom online stream, which includes US, Japan, HK, and more...

zhen^wei, I tried out the Eaget M9 Version V1.2.4d003 firmware, YES, they did a GREAT job on passing the AAC sound-stream (auto convert into Multi channel PCM) to my Yamaha Amplifier even I set the sound passing via HDMI to RAW!!! GREAT JOB!!! (bug fixed!!! yeah!)
BUT... do realized another BUG when playing Blu-ray (backup) files via folder, it will just stop at the middle of the no-where. eg. 2hr movie.. it can only play up to 45mins, then stop. I tried out few movie... it happen to all. so.. pls let the developer know the bug. tq.

Yes, I can assure the player NO problem playing online-streaming in China, and it works SOOOO SMOOTH!!! I do realized "Voole" are belong to HD, even in China, it required 2mbps inorder to player smoothly(the router reported 2mbps (full-load)! that's the minimum). Others HD online-stream, u can forget about it, eg. PPlive HD, even 2mbps in China can't play it smoothly, the router reported 2mbps (full load) and the movie will play-and-stop-buffering-play-and-stop, others xml-site with SD resolution playback without problem, and it buffer speed is awesome, VERY fast and VERY smooth.

do realized that voice in Version V1.2.4d003 for M9 really [too] soft when playing AAC encoded movie. feel that front/center/sub channels missing, feel that it only playback rear channels.

problem exist on AAC stream. DTS/DD no problem.

Hi there, i'm using HDMI Yamaha YSP-5100 sound projector, no problem using it, just hafta make sure when playing [DTS-HD] or [DD-HD] set it to HDMI RAW in setup. BUT, when playing movie with [AAC] encoded sound, make sure it MUST set to MULTI-PCM.
