anyway can this game play with a42jv?? hmm.gif  hmm.gif
a)dragon age
b)transformers
c)all prince of persia series
d)bioshock
e)half life orange box
f)all battlefield and medal of honour series

i played dragon age recently. All setting can be adjusted to max, but the anti-aliasing if adjusted to 8x, the game not more smooth and it seem no different for 0x,2x,4,x,8x. So i would advise you open max setting but off the anti-aliasing.

Most of the time the frame rate is around 40, in some very occasional scene it may drop till 25-30.

But in overall, u can play dragon age smooth with max setting and off the anti-aliasing. smile.gif

I have a problem with the bluetooth mouse. Yesterday i used it just worked fine but dc a few times. I need to restart the bluetooth adapter + remove the device and add again.

But today,it failed. Just after i added the bluetooth mouse as bluetooth device, the bt mouse icon appeared in the device list but cannot function at all. Then after a while, it disappeared.

Anybody can help me? Aiks already reinstalled bluetooth driver N times but this does not solve it.

my bluetooth mouse works again after i restored the Local Disk C to factory settings =.=

1.Try to open device manager-->BT270-->properties-->power management-->untick the allow computer to turn off this device to save power.
2.Type services after u click start button, make sure bluetooth service and bluetooth support service are started and automatic.

Hope this can help.

what is the average boot time for a42jv? usually how long do you all stay after the Starting windows logo animation finishes (i mean after it turns and the windows logo comes out, then until it turns to the blue screen with the word "welcome"?) i suspect that my boot time is very slow. if it is only me, i will send to ASUS service centre tmr
*
around 30 sec to see the welcome screen. another 20 + sec more to load everything.

I disabled the GUI boot.

what about the time u need to wait right after the windows logo finishes animating and before the blue screen appears?
*
I disabled the GUI boot . The 1st screen appears is the welcome screen, and then it enters the window.

HDD and RAM is user replaceable, but Asus won't cover those replaced part since its not in their warranty, you will need to refer to each manufacturer if anything happen.
*
Hey,do u mean i can replace the 5400rpm HDD with 7200 rpm 1 without voiding the warranty?Plan to buy a 7200 rpm external hdd

what's better in Ubuntu? I tried Ubuntu on another very old laptop and didn't really like it... Too much pseudo codes to learn and I think currently Windows7 on A42Jv is fast enough to do everything smoothly...
*
I am a newbie in Ubuntu, perhaps other expert can answer it. But ubuntu has a better visual effect and boot up faster.Ya it will be difficult for window user to use it rclxub.gif , anyway google helped me a lot. thumbup.gif

I am using ubuntu coz i have 1 project need to run on linux system.
