My A42JR just came back alive.. haha

It died 2 months back just after 5 months of usage. The hard disk went kaput, and could not even boot. There were symptoms of numerous lagging occasions while normal usage, where the whole laptop would hang for like 1-2 mins and becomes useable again. So just a reminder, if it starts to lag for no apparent reason, your hard disk may die soon..

Decided to forgo the warranty and replaced it with a Hitachi 500GB one. Could not trust Seagate anymore. Its so far so good, even smoother than before..

Erm.. I am not very sure where is the HDD.. Can you show me where you put ur both fans? My highest temperature is always ACPI..

Seems like 2 fans is not enough also haha.. A big fan in the middle does better somehow..

At least yours died after 5 months. Mine died in a week. =/

But you don't void the warranty if you swap the hard drive though.

Hello, i'm still a noob in this area.

I own a Asus a42j intel core i5-450.
At first, the intel turbo boost technology(a gadget. i'm not sure how to call it, so i just name it as it is) bar when up and down. however, after a while(7 weeks after puchased), the bar stop moving or no animation at all.
Do any of guys know what is the problem? Any kind of help is really appreciated...

means no Boost at all...

not every app needs Turbo Boost to work more efficiently...

anyway, jzu ignore it, not that Turbo Boost is useful in the first place...

im not sure whether this question being carried out previously or not but please pardon me to ask this question because im having difficulty to view every pages with cellphone >.<

may i know why do the wifi adapter automatically turned off after few minutes or lesser than that duration?
It can't even back to function and dont have any response even i manually turn the wifi function on with hotkeys or under task icon.

Im using a42jv,and previously i faced this problem once but it's been resolved after i unticked the energy saving option..but too bad this issue has arise again and been bothering me to complete daily tasks =.=

to astria: well, the game i played use the boost and it work quite well.
however, after some hardware problem(which i'm not sure what cause it), it stop functioning... which cause the game to slow down to almost 50%...

Actually, there is no problem at all except me . somehow the shortcut key to change the power mode is not working properly. So i change it manually by going to the control panel and change it the "high performance"... I'm sorry if the answer is not kind you expecting...

well, if it's High Performance means that a lot of the in-built function of the CPU is disabled... this include the likes of EIST... i am not surprised if Turbo Boost is turned off as well since theoratically speaking, 2 cores are still better than 1 core...
