QUOTE(AlOnE89 @ Sep 13 2010, 01:09 AM) im not sure whether this question being carried out previously or not but please pardon me to ask this question because im having difficulty to view every pages with cellphone >.< may i know why do the wifi adapter automatically turned off after few minutes or lesser than that duration? It can't even back to function and dont have any response even i manually turn the wifi function on with hotkeys or under task icon. Im using a42jv,and previously i faced this problem once but it's been resolved after i unticked the energy saving option..but too bad this issue has arise again and been bothering me to complete daily tasks =.= pls all sifu here teach me a solution,i'll really really appreciate the help!!thanks in advance :-) driver updated? QUOTE(kirayamato90 @ Sep 13 2010, 05:31 AM) Actually, there is no problem at all except me . somehow the shortcut key to change the power mode is not working properly. So i change it manually by going to the control panel and change it the "high performance"... I'm sorry if the answer is not kind you expecting... well, if it's High Performance means that a lot of the in-built function of the CPU is disabled... this include the likes of EIST... i am not surprised if Turbo Boost is turned off as well since theoratically speaking, 2 cores are still better than 1 core...

QUOTE(CzarXVII @ Sep 13 2010, 10:13 AM) Just curious, did laptops with i7 have nvidia optimus technology??coz its doesn't have integrated gpu built in?? yes for 600M series... no for the quads... that's 1 of the reason y i dun like calling the CPU "i7"... can be confusing at times...

Computer -> Right click the drive -> Properties -> Tools -> Check Now... (under Error Checking) -> tick both boxes -> Start
if it's C: that u want to check, it will need to restart then it can perform the check...

well, that's becuz most ppl assumes i7 = quad, while missing out the fact that there exist a Core i7-600M family which is a dual core CPU...
600M is no different from a 500M, 400M, etc in terms of hardware... which means, it also has the CPU and GMA all integrated into the same die...

nah... 600M is still DDR3 1066MHz... it's still an Arrandale...
main thing is even higher clock and more cache... other than that it's the same as 500M...

1) preferablly u uninstall first... 3) QUOTE S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring, Analysis, and Reporting Technology; sometimes written as SMART) is a monitoring system for computer hard disks to detect and report on various indicators of reliability, in the hope of anticipating failures. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.M.A.R.T. anyway... my Momentus XT is here...

well, it's either this or that... no other choices at the same price range, unless u go to the area of rm3.5k-rm4k... there's Asus A42Ja and N43Jf...
as for my new HDD... well, initially u dun really notice any differences... it's only after continual usages then u will see it...

nope... the NV GPU kicks in only when u launch programs that hvae been specified in the profile, and in certain incidents like Flash (provided u ve Flash 10.1 installed)
Optimus works automatically... u can't manually choose when to use it...

GT 425M - 96SP GT 335M - 72SP
GT 420M/435M and 435M, all having 96 SP, are at the same lvl as GTS 360M...
model number works only with in the same generation, but not across different generations... it's the spec that counts...
if like wat u say, Radeon 9800 back in the early 2000s is way better than Radeon HD5800...
i can safely say my HD4650 can pwn HD5470 any time...

SP = Stream Processors = those "stuff" that renders the graphic...
more SP = more graphic effect can be produced = higher graphic quality
DX11 is built upon DX10.1, which in turn is built on top of DX10.0... so a DX10.1 card (like HD3000, HD4000 and 300M) have partial support of DX11... DX10.0 cards (like 200M, 100M, 9M, 8M, HD2000) would ve partial support of DX10.1 and DX11...
so as u can see, DX do not play any role here since they are inter-related... a DX10 card can still play a DX11 game, less the DX11 effects only...
so, HD5650, which has 400SP, is still better than HD4650, which has 320SP...

the prefix is only for market segmentation, no particular meaning...
btw, there is GTX 260M and GTS 260M... the former has 112SP while the latter has 96SP... confusing, i know... blame NV for that...

that's y N82Jv/Jq and A42Jv are a disappointment compared to N80V/N81V... these 2 have a whopping 5 USB ports...

well, A42Jv is basically the same as N82Jv for the chasis...
but for N82J, at least they ve a USB 3.0 port...

ve u seen a N82Jv before??
A42Jv litrally has the same chasis design as N82Jv, ie, all the ports, mobo, screw position, battery location, etc... except for replacing the USB 3.0 port with USB 2.0 instead, and min in port for N82J...
and fyi, once A42Jv was out, N82Jv EOL-ed and was replaced with N82Jq...

QUOTE(gogo2 @ Sep 17 2010, 11:39 AM) nope. but I believe, since its cheap, we got to live with what is there. If the older version of N82 also having 3 USB port, then probably A42JV is to continue using old chasis since building a mold for chassis is not cheap. that's y i was saying, comparing N81V with N82J (and A42J which has the same chasis), 3 USB ports is juz ... it's understandable for N82J since they want to put USB 3.0 on it, which draws more power than USB 2.0... but A42Jv has the USB 3.0 port removed, and yet Asus did not bother to put back at least 1 more port to it... compared to other 14" models in the market, most are having 4 USB ports... a hind sight on Asus part perhaps??? i myself am using 4 out of the 5 ports of my N81Vp at any point in time...
