Has anyone used Skype on C6 yet? I did some googling and realised that there're some errors and problems being reported relating to the use of Skype.

QUOTE(Squidoo @ Dec 28 2010, 12:34 AM) Let me try it first NO WAIT! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!! IT WORKS!? Now this is some..wonderful news! Cos my google searches returns me with C6 users complaining that they can't install/use Skype etc etc.Added on December 28, 2010, 1:35 am After giving it a run for half an hour on my C6, it works flawlessly! I gotta admit, the software works great Let me do a recap checklist with you: 1. You went to www.skype.com/m using your C6 to download and install the program, right? (Cos some other users reported that they get the error message "Sorry, Skype is unavailable for your mobile. We add new handsets all the time so check back soon.") 2. Is your phone Nokia C6-00 or Nokia C6-01? 3. You're able to make free Skype to Skype calls using wifi? 4. Is your C6 updated to the latest firmware? Sorry for the...bombardment of questions LOL, cos i'm really exhiliarated. I even contempated on getting two E72's already. But since now you gave me hope, i'll reconsider my decisions again Thank you!! |

QUOTE(Squidoo @ Dec 28 2010, 06:43 AM) 1. It's available in OVI Store, downloaded it from there Wah, this is epic news for me! Well...it is, because it's the first priority for me that the phone is Skype supported. Now i've got the green lights from you, hmm... this would be it.2. Nokia C6-00 of course 3. Yep, free Skype to Skype calls via WIFI. 4. Latest firmware , 20.0.041 ! Any more inquiries, krfan? Anyways, thanks! Oh, does this phone pose any other problems, such as frequent hangs or other annoying issues? And also, there seem to be little people hanging out in this thread. Is this observation relative to the popluarity of the phone? |

QUOTE(ne0cz @ Dec 28 2010, 06:47 PM) I read somewhere that Skype's not the only choice. There's like Fring. And i heard video calling is now supported by Fring. Correct me if i'm mistaken QUOTE(rivendell @ Dec 28 2010, 07:23 PM) My gf just did a little asking around a mall in penang, and she told me it's about RM900. |

What's the difference between resistive and capacitive anyways? And goodness, how many types of touchscreens are there in the first place? O_o

QUOTE(Dlim88 @ Dec 29 2010, 05:13 PM) 2 Oh! Thanks for explaining Resistive (Nokia 5800XM & Nokia N97) - Designed to allow items other than your finger to activate the touch. It also allows touch pens otherwise know as a Stylus to be used. - Generally require a little more "effort", but you can use almost anything. Capacitive (iPhone) - Best for situations that require high speed response and long lasting reliability. - Has to be used with fingers - cannot use a finger nail or other pointing device, cannot be used whilst wearing gloves (ie. when its cold). Well, i this case, i think capacitive sounds better. Cos we might... accidentally "press" the screen when a hard object touches it. And what's with the hard surface like glass thingy you guys are talking abt? |

But then Ovi Maps is free right? What abt the maps itself? Cos i'm using Hotlink Prepaid and not subscribed to a data plan, so i'm afraid i'll be using GPRS/3G charges if i use Ovi Maps.
