I didnt watch the match..but based on you peep's comments, was Inter really bad? from what i read on Soccernet seems like Inter played well, but posts here contradicts from what i read.

Im definitely keeping one eye on Inter's progress this season, yes I'm still infatuated by that man that is currently managing you lots.

they did play well for the 1st 5-6 minutes in the first half.

i didn't even notice that zanetti is playing. he's always alive in every match. but not yesterday. rafa messed with the formation

wow vision,that was fast!

QUOTE
Inter boss Rafa Benitez admits he is struggling to convince his players to switch to his own tactics after the legacy left by Jose Mourinho.

"I don't want to make a revolution, we're at the beginning of our work and those who played a lot last year have only just returned from the World Cup. "We need to try to continue to do what we do well and learn gradually. We know that we have to work on physical and technical aspects to improve.

"But we know that right now it's not the system that will make the difference, you win with your attitude, with character." Benitez vowed to learn from the defeat to theEuropa League holders and hopes it can prove to be the wake-up call he feels his players need. "A defeat is not positive but I'm sure we will react," he added.

"We've lost a game and that will be a stimulus for everyone, it has to be," he said.

"We tried to win in Monte Carlo, we're not happy. But Atletico Madrid were training for that match for two weeks, we only arrived the day before.

"I repeat, our physical condition can't be at its optimal level after the World Cup."

look at the positive side, we drew the opening match of our past seasons when we won our scudetto, so this should be a good sign sweat.gif

Difference in like what ? The 5-year plan he installed in Liverpool that worked(or not) ?
Sorry for my ignorance, can't really trust a spanish fatman this days to do the right thing. I could forgive him for a draw away against Bologna, but im still fuming about the supercup.

Just hours away from the Mercato closing and having one of the worst in the recent 5 years.
Unless we get Aguero, Bastian or someone of that caliber, we have one tough season ahead.

Just a thought

Because this Inter team is a trophy-winning team, I think that Benitez is not interested in changing the squad at all. He's just there to make sure he adds a trophy into his resumè. But looking at the way Inter played this morning, they were very very unlucky to be up against Viviano.

Thing is, it isn't Benitez the one controlling our market. Its Branca and Moratti. And the latter is wary of the new rules coming in the season after this.
We seriously lack depth in our age squad. Combine with 30+ players, we dont have much proven youth yet after selling Balotelli.

And now Milan has Robinho, Ibra upfront, it will be a quite a nightmare for us if we dont reorganize fast.

we have Ranocchia currently on loan, also Santon who are our future. I guess Moratti and co arent too worry about the team, and looking at how other teams progress why should he? only Milan is up to the challenge now, Roma and Juve isnt going anywhre. i am not worried about our squad, only worry on Benitez if he screws things up!

Our next match is against Udinese on 11/12 of Sept. Hopefully this international break has somewhat put on a positive role for Inter.
Good news for Zanetti, Cambiasso as they were called up. Zanetti could push for a 2014 world cup when he turns 41 then. All the best to him. thumbup.gif

4th of Sept.
Unforgettable and unforgotten. Always with us. Thank you Giacinto.

rafa better gives santon plenty of playing time this season. otherwise his talent will be wasted.

ranocchia looks very promising too. hope he'll prove his worth with genoa before returning to us.

yes, milan seems to look like a serious contender this season. i watched them against lecce and they did look evry intimidating indeed. now that they have zlatan the traitor and robinho, i really expect them to put up a serious challenge.

juve and roma both looked shitty in the first fixture. but i reckon juve will bounce back. they made some great signings this season in krasic, aquilani, bonucci, and quagliarella. roma will no more be a problem this season i guess.

i already got annoyed twice this season. first, how on earth did we screw up against athletico? the chance to make history of winning that trophy for the first time was simply wasted.

then, we did not sign any new player. yes, the current inter team is a trophy-winning team. but, it was only made possible by the brilliance of mourinho. with rafa, i don't think it will be the same. for some reasons, i don't have the belief that he is a great manager.

i thought the only reinforcement we needed was a leftback. in fact i have said it many times before. chivu is no longer starter material, santon is still struggling with one injury to another, zanetti..well, cant rely on a 38 years old for years to come..but rafa played him at DM since motta also injured. antonelli rumored to have sign with us but it was just rumors..hopefully we get somebody on january
