so.. if there any chance that if pirlo come to anfield that would mean that we get alonso back? biggrin.gif

Pirlo is too old to be switching clubs actually...plus he loves his club so much, he won't leave unless Milan sells him.

Alonso is still young and has a better chance to come back though...since Madrid likes to do player clearances once in a while brows.gif

Anyways good performance from our 2nd stringers. If Joe Cole didn't get a red card and played the 2nd half vs Arsenal....and also vs Man C, Birmingham, I'm sure he can make a difference. Damn. hmm.gif

But anyways, at least he's back now, with our new box-to-box mdf , Raul Meireles. Liverpool can now play with more creativity and pace up front if those two stay fit the whole season! smile.gif

A few points that can be taken from this match :

1. Torres caused problems to the defence and create both for Gerrard to score...hope he continues his rehab to 100% a.s.a.p
2. Raul Meireles has his 1st start to the BPL and he looks good. Tidy and did some good forward runs, but he still doesn't look comfortable around his new teammates yet.
3. Joe Cole hasn't click well with the players yet, maybe he need some time. He seems better to partner Torres up front though.
4. Maxi hasn't got his confidence yet, perhaps give more play time to Ryan Babel?
5. Carra is outmuscled by Berbatov, seems like his age is catching up... sad.gif
6. Berbatov is getting back his good form from his Spurs days...which is 3 seasons late. He seems on top of the world today as all his goals were well taken and Reina can't do much about it. :/

Yes losing at Old Trafford isn't far from losing at Stamford Bridge, they are both one of the toughest place to go in the whole of football world.

Let's asses our opponents instead. We lost because of the brilliance and form of Berbatov...if the out of form Rooney were to get all 3 of his chances, the max he can convert is only 2 of them. Berbatov's stunning overhead kick is probably one of the best goals this season. Vidic was very good in all aerial challenges and he had a very good game.

Carra just had a bad game after he saved our skins lots of time, so be easy on him yea? Konchesky and Meireles looked a lil bit tired in the end , thats why RH have to sub them out. Cole's touches too look out of sorts in the final 20 mins or so.

Yes our performance is weak, but we have quite a number of positives to take from this one. Torres's run is menacing and our new signings did pretty well against a top team today, neat in keeping the ball.

In short, we were slaughtered by the fantastic Berbatov today. Tonight sure is his night, all his touches and shots were good and accurate. The other teams will be watching him from today on...

Why Martin O'Neil resigned from AV?
Lack of transfer kit?
So, do we have transfer kit @ Liverpool?
*
Damn right you are. Rafa left because the boards didn't want to guarantee him money for transfers as well. Heck, no new manager likes to work in a team without a proper transfer kit and with all the media focusing their spotlight on you. Roy Hodgson actually waited for news about the England job before coming to us.

It's not easy to steady/repair a rocking ship in the rough seas with limited materials...

Please guys lets talk about the match just now instead of arguing about Man U's trollers. Its our thread, not theirs...

I think we played better in the last 20 mins or so, but unable to get the winning goal. Poulsen made a bad mistake, and Darren Bent was very clinical today. 2 Shots, 2 Goals. Had he have more chances, he might finish us off. @_@

Johnson and Kuyt did dribble through defenders but they always delayed their pass and made the wrong decision to keep the ball too long. Damn...I can understand Kuyt is still rusty due to his injury but Johnson doesn't seem to like short passes, he's always either dribbling or doing long balls occasionally. Sigh...

At least Stevie G got back his scoring boots. Meireles passing wasn't so good today, hope he builds up his teamwork with his new teammates. N'gog's entrance made some difference but his understanding with Torres isn't that good...probably due to the fact they didn't play much together.

Anyways, it's two points lost. Better get maximum points at home from now on!
