Is 30k attainable?

Not unless you're pretty high ranked with benefits from huge public listed conglomerate, IMO.

That's why when I reach 30, which is the prime age for many men, I have to relook on other ways to earn money, legally and without shortcut.

It's only a few years ahead only.

I really dunno whether I should say Bill Gates is successful because of him daring to take the risk or not.

He is successful because he is selling his first software -- bought from somebody else. laugh.gif

guys.. u all overlooked starting a business..

u all talk only from the coperate ladder point of view

I always have the vision innovating something that can be sold, but always is skeptikal about Malaysian market.

I always had this question in my mind.

You know in the mid 2000s, Friendster has been with us for quite some time, and that time many of my coursemates were dying to build a social network site for their
assignments, that was also when Mark Zuckerburg created "The Facebook" for Stanford University as a "dating tool"

If Facebook was created by Malaysians in around 2004-2005, will you think it will be successful?

unfortunately the malaysian education system does not train one on how to succesfully start a business. they are all polluted from young that they have to study hard and get good grades and enter a professional course to earn a lot of money(which is not exactly the case). like me.  cry.gif
true.  sad.gif
in general la. who u met earned 2k in the 90s when they freshly graduated? must be a genius.
not really, 10000000 rupiah is only about rm3500.  unsure.gif

This one I agree with you..

During my college years, when you have great idea, my lecturers tend to have stereotypical thinking that you are a weird student, not encouraging you but instead treated you
like an outcast. That's something I don't like about Malaysian education system. They just want to program our brain to become factory workers, rather.

There was one time when my college finally "imported" a HK professor based in the USA to give a lecture on computer networking, short-lived, only 2 weeks though. I really respect him.
The way he teaches is totally different from how Malaysia does it. His 2 week lecture is good enough for me to apply in real life in my customer's projects until today. notworthy.gif

I think in the end of the day, perserverance is the key.

I got people "pouring cold water" at me as early as college.

Around 2002, my friends told me IT is a dying field, and you will end up selling pirated VCD or DVD. Better study medic or something...

Here's another horror story:

Because I was waiting for my college application, my friends asked me to try Form 6, I was like, OK, since I'm free, why not?

So, on the first day, the orientation day is so wrong. The first thing that the teachers do -- They ask the students to give a speech about why form 6 is good, and one of the student claimed
that he feel lucky not to study in college and chose Form 6 instead... I really don't feel comfortable at all....

OK. I don't have any bad sentiments to Form 6 actually. Just the school is having problems. STPM is one of the world's hardest exam, according to some article I read...

QUOTE(zstan @ Aug 23 2010, 11:36 AM)
wub.gif

In the original sleeping beauty, the lovely princess is put to sleep when she pricks her finger on a spindle. She sleeps for one hundred years when a prince finally arrives, kisses her, and awakens her. They fall in love, marry, and (surprise surprise) live happily ever after. But alas, the original tale is not so sweet (in fact, you have to read this to believe it.) In the original, the young woman is put to sleep because of a prophesy, rather than a curse. And it isn’t the kiss of a prince which wakes her up: the king seeing her asleep, and rather fancying having a bit, rapes her. After nine months she gives birth to two children (while she is still asleep). One of the children sucks her finger which removes the piece of flax which was keeping her asleep. She wakes up to find herself raped and the mother of two kids.
