Found it! Didnt realise its called DRAM Command Rate. Anyway, tested earlier with 4x HT and 2T at 240Mhz I could run super pi 1M and 2M fine. but right after that, explorer starts crashing, IE crashes, abit crashes. Could this be due to voltage? kind of weird as it ran super pi just fine.

1M and 2M doesnt tell stability at all
32M is the one that u run to test the stability

i'm guessing it's some kinda compatibility problem somewhere?
if you've got some other rams, try swapping them

What's the core voltage you set for CPU and DIMM?

Yeah, 1M and 2M are not indications of stability until you run 32M. Usually what I do is that I first make sure that 1M and 2M runs fine, before proceeding to 32M. But in this case, when I closed super pi and before launching it again, explorer etc crashes. I don't have any other RAMs to test with, just these 2 sticks.

my vcore was at 1.5250 and DImm was at 2.80 (are they too high?). I based these values on the 'turbo' settings and upped them a little as when the voltages are at 'turbo', super pi 1M and 2M doesnt run at all.

I needed 1.55Vs for my Winny 3000 to be stable @ 2.4. Try lossening your ram timings. I'm guessing you already put your ram on a divider? DDR333?

Em earlier at 1T I did test with DDR333, but when i did the 2T it was still at DDR400. So are the voltages I applied 'ok' ? Are my rams lousy types? sorry that i dont have a sig.. ill try to get it done.

anyway.. wat's a good way to go about this? set cpu multi to 8x, then use high htt? (eg. 300mhz). at that speed, since my ram most likely cant cope, do i have to use DDR333 and 2T? will it impact my performance? does the higher cpu speed ofset this performance impact?

btw, how do i know which voltages to apply when it is not stable? do i apply to vht, vddr, cpu voltage, vnb ?

Update:
Changed to DDR333, 2T, HT at x3 as well as cpu multiplier x8. I could do super pi at 240mhz at 1M and 2M, but as soon as i notched it up to 245mhz bam! bluescreen. then blank screen and auto reboot. above 240mhz just doesnt work for my machine.. wats up?

Thanks.

Maybe it's your chip not being able to oc much. It will be helpful if you could post your stepping. Try upping your Vcore. 1.55 or 1.575.

Is this what you mean by stepping? Currently it's set at 'normal' using the OCGuru.
Yeah, I did try upping the voltage even up to 1.65. Still no go. I guess there most be a faulty component somewhere... sigh..

No , stepping as in the 3 line of codes on the IHS of your winny. You need to take off the heatsink to be able to see it.

ahh.. sorry... ever since i got this thing, i had been trying to remove the artic freezer to clean it up.. but i've never been successful short of afraid i might crack d cpu itself.... tried unlatching, but it wont come off...

is there another way i can find out? like thru amd's cpuid util?

Nope. Unless you take off the heatsink itself.

hmm.. so ur thinking it could actually b d cpu? does different steppings really can affect overclockability?

Yes. Some of the newer winnys can't oc for shit. IIRC the 0450s CBBHD I think were the ones that oc-ed the most.

yeap sad.gif my AN8 Fatality having 1T problem i think
i running my RAM at DDR500 250Mhz*10 now, in Sandra Mark i can get 6800+ for 1T
5800+ for 2T sad.gif

but whenever i run with 1T, my comp will automatic shut down after sometimes, but when i run Prime, SuperPI, memtest all is running fine.. just it will randomly shutdown

when i set 2T, it work perfectly in every things.. i already on my comp for 5days non-stop, still no problem..

but i cant feel any performance different for 1T and 2T, just the benchmarking hv differences..

Change the mobo like I did. The Fatality has issues with 1T with certain memory.
