Yeah you could. I thought you were referring to the campaign.

There is mothership in skirmish, you can build it from the Nexus with the requirement of a Fleet Beacon.

The black hole skill is called vortex though ...

you built it from the nexus after you get the fleet beacon...

it's just for the lulz that you get that though...XD

you forgot to build the fathership, that's why you cant build the mothership.

u need to

1. built gateway
2. cybernatics
3. stargate
4. fleet beacon
5. click nexus and start training mothership....

dont forget to build pylons or else you will hear " You must construct additional pylons "... haha

You check the in game tech tree on how to build a Mothership.

you will see the motherships in 3missions in the campaignn , 2 in terran mission,1 in protoss prophecy mission.

most of the guys are just playing around with you...

You can build Mothership in Multiplayer games. You'll need a Fleet Beacon, then you can create a Mothership at any of your Nexus.

Plus, u gotta have the Collector's Edition in order to produce it..
