hey guys..

I have few questions here. I have placed my pre-order on G53JW from xoticpc. But I can see most of ASUS G Series members here purchased from gentechpc. I find out that these two resellers are reputable and trusted. I chose xoticpc over gentechpc because the price they offered is cheaper.

So I wanna ask u guys do our customs charge any fee on notebook product when the item is quoted in its actual value and not gift?

Thanks. biggrin.gif

hmm.. higher markup for the G73... wonder why.

G53jw markup about RM300
G73jw markup about RM500 @_@

he's probably getting higher margin for bulk orders and delivery too. would like to find out the suppliers  brows.gif

still beats sitting around waiting 3 weeks for your laptop to arrive i guess.

personally i would say his price is cheap..and it is worth to purchase from him..enuff said..try importing by urself and u will realise the hassle.. icon_rolleyes.gif

furthermore these two are still not available in Malaysia yet officially..and one more thing..just imagine..the price of these two models when they are available in our beloved country..I seriously doubt that G53JW would be less than 6k cool2.gif

jeffrey..i did see u use that zalman for ur g73 in the video..any suggestion mate?

p/s: ken just told me it definitely will be shipped next week rclxm9.gif

As you have the old version of G73, i think that wud be a great replacement for it jeffrey tongue.gif
But ur JH still can kick ass though rclxms.gif

I would love to share my experience of purchasing G53JW from gentechpc as I saw many questions in this thread asking "how can i get this", "how can i pay" etc

If you dont want to pay via wire transfer, there is still one alternative which is paypal. Top notch US notebook resellers would never accept PayPal unless u live in US, Canada and UK. But gentechpc still can consider it and that is why Ken Lee is a top class seller. I paid via PayPal and I believe jeffrey did use the same method as well.

One good thing about PayPal is that the instant payment would make ur order processed instantly. But please do remember the 3% cash discount cannot be applied this way. Plus you have to add 1.5% surcharge fee of the total price(notebook price+shipping)

The total price I paid for the A1 model is 1546.87(notebook+shipping+surcharge fee) around RM4800, but if you think its still not a great deal, dont hesitate to proceed via wire transfer as long as the resellers are reputable. For me I would never ever use wire transfer, you know why, but that is just me smile.gif

The currency rates is getting down at this moment but the SB version will be worth waiting biggrin.gif

if they are refreshing it, then the price should drop. Or they might clear stock faster than bringing the new one in first....
*
the price probably will drop a bit..not much..and it will stay that way for maybe 6 months..by the way the SB version of G series would not be cheaper..trust me cool2.gif

better verified, as long the funds legit, no need to worries.
usually shipping cost from US to malaysia cost around $100
*
agreed..paypal to be verified before purchase is a must..dont screw with paypal lol..there is possibility they will block ur money if ur not verified..at such amount to purchase g53jw..u would not want that to happen rclxub.gif

yes if u wanna pay via paypal to comgateway, and to make ur paypal verified legally, u have to attach it with ur cc or debit card..but for comgateway..u can use the cc itself..i think..not sure la..bcoz i did not use comgateway for my purchase..better ask doubleu mate.. biggrin.gif

yes..as expected..the SB version of G53JW..also known as G53SW..

the specs:

Asus G53SW
i7-2630QM
8GB RAM
1TB SSD
15.6 HD LED
NV GTX460 1.5G VRAM
Blu-Ray Writer
802.11b/g/n
Webcam BT
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Bag Mouse
2 Year Global

source: NBR

RRP price: $2,669.20
Expected market price: $2,004.13

I believe the SSD above refers to hybrid type..however this I could say not very reliable and a bit pricey..but take it as a reference how much the price of SB version would be smile.gif

still wanna wait for the SB one arr..go for it..if u have a large pocket.. tongue.gif

*price edited blush.gif

jaycn67 sorry to hear about ur laptop man..it might be a lemon from Asus itself..but i honestly think it might have been baling2 during shipment that caused that..my 2cents..for ya information..i picked up my g53jw due to very slow service from poslaju..at the poslaju..i was shocked to see my notebook box like a punch bag already..i was being sarcastic by telling them during the pick up ' mcm punch bag parcel saya'..they went silent.. laugh.gif

fortunately..until now it works flawlessly and luckily gentechpc triple boxed the notebook..now all you can do is by sending the laptop to any authorized asus service center near you..but i doubt its gonna be a fast process as g53jw not even available here..so theres no spare part..but better ask them thoroughly about the process..i heard they require receipt for RMA..u shud contact xoticpc then.. icon_rolleyes.gif
