one more question, is it any games/movies in 3D or only those which are available in 3D?
*
I believe there are some pixar CGI blu-ray are available in 3d like cloudy and meatball something and avatar i think.

Regardless of how... its up to user to choose JW which comes with nVidia GPU and usb 3.0 or better gpu performance on JH.

i'm not sure about that... some 3D are Red/Green instead of Red/Blue.

Just want to ask, is gentech the best place to get an Asus RoG laptop?

Im thinking of ordering one soon, as my dell started to give me small electric shocks. It's telling me:" Dude, im dying. Go get that sleek G73 NOW!!!"

My Asus A8jr still breathing hot fires. laugh.gif

Its up to u, but most of us would recommend GenTechPC for superb customer service.

So, i can assume that none of us here actually have problems with Gentech? Things like they scam your money, bad handling or late delivery.

nope, i dun think so.

However, there is a catch. I saw somebody posted on NBR that GTX 460m is lower clocked GTS 450. But I can't seems to find the same post back. hmm.gif

hi all...wanna ask something, comparing this 2 model, which one better overall:

Dell™ Alienware M15X Notebook
Alienware M15X Cosmic Black Base CONFIG 1
Intel® Core™ i7-740QM Processor (1.73GHz, 4Core/8Threads, turbo boost up to 2.93Ghz, 6M cache)
15.6 " Full HD (1080p) WLED (1920 x 1080) Display with TrueLife™
4GB Dual-channel 1333MHz DDR3 SDRAM (2 x 2GB)
Hard Drive 320GB 7200RPM SATA Hard Drive
1GB DDR3 ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5730

Asus G51JX-A1
I7-720/ 6GB DDR3/ 500GB 7200rpm/ GTS 360M w/ 1GB GDDR5

thanks for any suggestion and information smile.gif
*
GTS 360M i s a far better preformer. HD5730m has been reveiwed and its complained due to horrible performance.

QUOTE(DoubleU @ Oct 7 2010, 01:48 AM)
@riku wait... isn't it usually GTX460m > GTS 450? i mean like GTX260m > GTS360m that one i understand la.... but...
*
Desktop graphic are usually stronger than Notebook Graphic. Their naming is slightly lower than the desktop ones.
So, u shouldn't expect GTX 460m to perform exactly/close to GTX 460(desktop).

Still, does that mean that 460M is slower than 5870 Mobility?

Or their performance is roughly equal.
*
i wouldn't say its slower or whatever but nvidia could've pumped up gtx 460m performance with more mature driver.

QUOTE(minizian @ Oct 7 2010, 05:23 PM)
hi guys, a first time laptop user here. I initially thinking of  getting alienware at first but i felt it is overpriced if u spec to the max at dell website. I see asus had somekind of "value for money" in it.

i currently looking at asus g laptop either G73 or G53. but what is the diffrence between these 2? Is G73 the top of the G series?

My citeria is:
-I am not the overcloking type person.
-I does the type of person who will use the laptop till it spoil or etc.
-I am going to use the laptop to do officework too and ocassionaly gaming.

I am concern about asus laptop is
- Is it considered reliable compare to other brand gaming laptop?
-How is the support service? especilly australia which i will going there sometime in futrue?
I still wonder which place is best to shop for these laptop? all the while i read here is telling me tat the best palce to buy is in Singapore? Am i correct? How much will it cost if i buy in Malaysia?

Hope you guys can help me ya.
*
Maybe u would consider Sager, Since u insisted on "value for money". However, sager does not have any warranty HQ for u to RMA in MY. But Sager build is definitely stable.

Asus laptop comes with standard 2 years global warranty which means u can warranty it as long as there's a Asus service centre near u.

There are 2 shops which u could get from depending on Location.
US would be GenTechPC
SG would be recommended SGCubeHub.

QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Oct 7 2010, 05:27 PM)
Best place to shop would be GenTechPC based on feedback here laugh.gif
If you want to buy in Malaysia, G73Jh would cost RM7999...
*
The catalogue i got from Asus States RM9999. G73JH-A1 + Win 7 Ultimate.

I should be asking my friend to bring it back but i'm not sure when he's coming back. doh.gif

17" vs 15.6" main diff. Also G73Jh = HD5870 while G73Jw = GTX460m (or either way around)
G53Jw comes only with GTX460m. (but G53Jw should be out only on 22 oct)
sager is cheaper than asus.
*
G73JH is the only G73/53 lines which doesn't come USB 3.0.

Interesting HD6 series are offering AMD HD3D. There's a probability of Asus refresh G73 since they can just change the GPU within G73jw than changing entire laptop parts.

Yes, what i mean if Asus decide to refresh G73 just like how they did it to G51.
Still Mobile HD6 series might take some time before people would realize AMD is doing 3D into gaming industry.

The same goes for it. They might allow cuztomization if the individual wants the 3d vision kit or not. U could get it bundle and resell it to other people. laugh.gif
