I think i do need a new laptop, as my aging M1530 is having problems, like getting hotter and showing some signs of another GPU failure.

Mine not gpu failure more like thermal paste caked to extreme and gpu overheats coz asus designed my a8jr to have the copper pipes for cpu and gpu are shared. so both are spreading heat to each other which result in force shut down sometimes.

those on my Asus are nothing to shout abt (thermal blu-tak anyone? laugh.gif well, they look like blu-tak anyway)... there's significant improvement after i put in my own OCZ Freeze... nod.gif

I dun have disassembly guide for my A8JR. Tried to open up last friday but open the back but still haven't fully open the chasis. doh.gif

do u really need to open up till that point???

i merely remove the heatsink and the pipes only, juz enuf to reach for the CPU...

Mine is different, the back plate of the chasis can't reach as the copper pipe is below and blocked by the delta fan blower.

Here we go again. doh.gif

G73JH had that problem, but solved with BIOS flash.

I might as well get AW since im in Aus and dont have to worry about customs, if G73JW gonna have a lot of silly problems like G73JH initially.
