when you all know the SB news ady?...since octorber or November?

Since July, way before B1 batch was announced For JH Models. A1 still with i7 720QM that time.

Learned my lesson from Core 2 Duo E6420, where they release E6500 and above /E8xxx shortly after that with better clock speed and so.

Core i7 2720QM is slightly slower clocked compared to Core i5 750(desktop).
I guess in gaming performance, the fps may difference by <10 fps

AMD says that PowerTune is a silicon-level feature enabled by counters placed throughout the GPU. It works in real-time without relying on driver or application support. It’s programmable, too, so you can expect it to make a reappearance when Cayman is turned into a mobile part called Blackcomb.

Mobile HD69xx will be Codenamed Blackcomb. nod.gif

speedfan

some user claims that speedfan doesn't get the temp rite. Better off try with HwMonitor.

Added on December 16, 2010, 5:43 pmmaybe the design of G53 is more focusing more on GPU cooling instead of CPU cooling.

ok, i checked with HWmonitor, i get 55C for GPU and 65-67C for CPU

that's still significantly higher than cheese who has 45-50 for CPU
i7 not that hot right? =\
*
Nope, i guess they reduce the Copper content for CPU in G53, to reduce weight and increase portability.

65-67'c still find. As long as its below 80'c it should be no big deal for the temps.

Reading somebody G73jw facing shutdown(overheating) after 1hour of playing black ops in NBR. doh.gif

DoubleU, looks like yours is opposite from me.

Maybe they did changed the design.

that's why I'm saying there may be some inferior changes beside the hard disk bracket. But still they kept it compact for 15" ones. nod.gif

Radeon HD 6970M is tentatively lister in Graphical and stood right below GTX 480m. However, there are still no description available.

I guess it might take a while for AMD/Asus to leak some gpu-z screen shots.

im hoping the new sb G series will come with the newer gc instead of the usual 460m

SW will stick to GTX 460m but SH will be relying on HD69xx m.However, AMD 6 Series are majority Renamed Chips.

QUOTE
The AMD Radeon HD 6570M (or ATI Mobility Radeon HD 6570) is a renamed version of the ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5730, 5750, or 5770 with support for GDDR5

Most of the mid-range AMD Mobile GPU are getting GDDR5 except for the on-board ones.

I won't comment much, we'll wait for benchmark and gpu-z to proves the facts than spreading rumors.

I prefer print screen than camera shots. It may perform well coz M17x R3 has better cooling solution despite new outlook. But better wait some leak from Asus. nod.gif

Hello, I don't have an ASUS G-series laptop, but I do have an almost 2-year old ASUS laptop. I was wondering if I can bring my laptop to the service centre to service. (clean fans/check stuff etc) The fan had been noisy lately and my DVD player is making weird noises. My laptop is still under warranty, does it mean the service will be free?

Does anybody have any experience with this?
*
depends on them, u can complain dvd player making weird noises. Cleaning i'm not sure but it should be free. My asus 3 years old already. nod.gif

In 3DMark06 CPU, i7-2630QM scored 5071, thats the level of desktop i7-940
i7-2820QM scored 5790, thats close to desktop i7-975!!

Performance gap is so close to desktop i7!! laugh.gif

Sandy Bridge truly overthrows core i7 920/930 in realtime performance? Guess we'll need a valid benchmark to prove it all. brows.gif

Well, im happy with mine, as long as it runs well and doesnt overheat when i play games.

Hey, at least i have the SB version standard 1TB hybrid HDD and blu ray drive. Just the stuff inside is a bit slower.
*
hopefully the board itself has RAID support. They missed that feature in G53/73J series.

Minimum 2 USB 3.0 ports.

Minimum 1 E-Sata/USB Combo port.

Better speed with the SSD. Some claims its the powersave feature from HM55 in the G53/73J series.
