USB 3.0 requires it the USB 3.0 Controller which is the NEC/JMicron(can't remember) chip found in major boards with USB 3.0.

QUOTE(DoubleU @ Oct 27 2010, 11:49 PM) oh i just realize something... the power adapter for the G53 from gentech... is it our type? or the american one? the voltage the same? It is still usable. The voltage is the same, just that the head of the cable is US... so if u have existing laptop aside from dell, u could use back the head cable and plug it directly to the power brick. |

QUOTE(corad @ Oct 28 2010, 09:16 AM) I would take Justin's words with a grain of salt. He'll probably post again with some "good news" about having a special batch coming in. Standard G73JH wifi card is atheros ones, a lot of ppl complaining connection drop, then they get Intel N6200.to G73 owners, is there any difference with the standard wireless card vs Intel cards ? Since GenTech reduced their prices on their HDD,RAM,Blueray etc I've got about 150USD in credit to spend so wondering if there are any advantages between these cards. |

QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Oct 28 2010, 09:43 AM) Hmmmm, im using Atheros. It is upgradable.Feels the same. Hope it doesnt drop much. Anyway, isnt the wifi card upgradable? QUOTE(corad @ Oct 28 2010, 10:09 AM) It is, but I was thinking of spending my credit on either extra RAM / HDD space. But if the intel cards make a big difference, I might just sacrifice abit and go for the intel 6200. Intel Card just perform better than the atheros... I worry is the connection drop only happens with certain routers.GenTech are still saying their orders will ship this Friday, so fingers crossed ! QUOTE(Cheesenium @ Oct 28 2010, 10:40 AM) Stock G53 already have massive amount of RAM, i doubt you need even more. Depends on individual, for me... I'm might asking friend to bring back ssd from states.HDD wise, you might want to get Momentus XT. Worth upgrading, IMO. Faster load up time for your windows, programs and games. Wireless card, if possible, get it upgraded too. Or go for those extra bling blings like coloured keyboards. |

QUOTE(lee_what2004 @ Nov 3 2010, 01:57 PM) QUOTE(astria @ Nov 3 2010, 02:00 PM) yep, so far G73/53 doesn't support RAID from the beginning. While HD6870m is already in line and well.. expecting some G73 refresh sooner or later... Probably they'll add RAID and USB 3.0 support sooner. Unlike MSI GX660R has Raid support by default.QUOTE(DoubleU @ Nov 3 2010, 02:12 PM) was going to say what lee said... but imo i dun see a point in raid 0. easier to stay in raid 1 because next time i'm gonna swap out my 500GB hdd for momentus XT Kind pointless, as ur motherboard from asus doesn't come with RAID support by default. but need to tear down the laptop... haha |

QUOTE(corallinkz @ Nov 6 2010, 05:53 PM) guys, there's some debate that Seagate might release Higher SSD cache capacity for Momentus XT in the near future... So, it might be worth to wait the while... see how the other WD/Hitachi respond to Momentus XT. Gaming Mouse would be best wired, but saw C-Zone offering Roccat Wireless Pyra for RM199... so it might worth, i guess.hmm. anything else other than momentus XT that should i buy for my baby? and you guys which one is good for the cooler and mouse? is it good for me to buy the wireless gaming mouse. i afraid of the inconsistent on the using it compared to traditional mouse. |

QUOTE(Jeffrey1987 @ Nov 7 2010, 05:25 PM) Logitech G700 is a wireless mouse but you can use it as a normal wired gaming mouse too. I'm not so sure about the weight for Logitech G700 but IMHO Roccat Pyra Wireless Mouse is lighter than Logitech G700 due to its size factor. However, I still prefer the ergonomic design of Logitech G700 which is very comfortable to hold on. (depends on your hand palm. Mine is small-medium size hand palm) and also depends on the how the user grab the mouse, some are claw gripper, some are side holder/gripper.Added on November 7, 2010, 5:27 pm Glad to hear that you are really contented with your G53. I'm in the same feeling with you too. |
