Just bought s95 yesterday as my christmas present. Choosed it over LX5 coz of the size and LCD colour.
However after few shots and comparison, found out the camera LCD colour will differs from the PC display? Display on my laptop/PC seems more dull and less dark compare with the camera screen display. Any sifus here experience this?

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Dec 27 2010, 11:47 AM) Well definitely it's the difference of LCD panel used. Just like your television and mobile phone screen, they display colours differently And also, if it's a bit dark on the camera screen, do brighten it up somewhere in the menu or better still, calibrate it according to your PC screen Thanks Sifu! Is it expensive to buy calibrate software/hardware for PC screen? I rather calibrate my PC screen so i can edit photos and videos to more natural colour. Vincent

QUOTE(-kytz- @ Dec 28 2010, 09:05 AM) Are you going to print those pictures? Normally people calibrate their screens for that purpose iinm because they want their colour output to be exactly the same as what is displayed on the monitor. I won't calibrate my screen if i don't print pictures. Why? It's because majority of the users around Malaysia use uncalibrated screens, displaying inaccurate colours. So if I were to calibrate my screen and share pictures online, my pictures would still be inaccurate to many users around the world. It's because their inaccurate monitor, displaying my accurate colours as inaccurate solely because of their uncalibrated screen. So it kinda like defeats the purpose of calibration, because i normally just share my pictures online. Not to the extent of printing them out yet Oh... then perhaps i should calibrate my PC screen according to the camera screen colour? Coz on the camera the colour and contrast looks much vibrant and brilliant. Definitely won't print out most of the pictures btw.

QUOTE(poolcarpet @ Jan 2 2011, 04:03 PM) don't take offense but not sure which part of "no autofocus in movie mode" is unclear.... you focus, press the shutter in movie mode, and it starts recording, but there is no CONTINUOUS AF. meaning if you focus something far, then pan to something near, it will be blur. to fix, simple, stop the movie, re-focus the nearer object then shoot again. the LX5 has CONTINUOUS AF in movie mode. Added on January 2, 2011, 4:05 pmno way. canon s95, video mode can zoom while recording in movie mode? i don't think so.... mine surely cannot, and a lot of reviews/spec say the same so unless you're using some souped up s95... it's not possible to AF or zoom WHILE recording a movie... you can focus/zoom BEFORE you start recording but not WHILE recording. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wiwlsvk0Pesi zoomed on 1st 7 seconds in this clip. I dunno whether it's consider zoom for you.
