the S100 actually seems promising.
sure the s95 at 105mm is f/4.9, but s100 at 105mm is around f/5.6, about 1/2 stop difference...
the new processor that claims to reduce noise more should hopefully even it out.
s100 apparently also got a 8fps high speed burst mode.
guess my s90 going to drop price even more...still got 1.5yrs warranty to go

But this is a S95 thread not powershot. Might make S100 topic search a
problem no? S95 owners who are not upgrading can remain here. Just
my view.

Well said by a fellow member who post the above. Both S90 and S95 are  very capable compacts
which you can use to hone your skill to a high level ( like adam_iss )

Some are here to discuss the s95 camera. Their photos are private and for personal consumption.
Replacement model coming sure there is some excitement lah. When the s100 is available
locally there will be even more talk.

Others think the s95 is just a tool so they are here to show what the camera can do and
so they post photos to solicit praise and comments.

Both groups should be equally welcome

If you said something not nice about their camera, they get upset.

Olympus XZ1 is not an interchangable-lense pns...... anyway the real good thing about the canon s series is their size which pawns the XZ1.

buy both then no regret.... i own s90 and a DSLR.... and sometimes s90 just much easier to bring along..... and till this day i still wish tat Canon gonna do something more aggressive like the wat fuji did on their x-series. I want large sensor on small body.

quality of S95 is great. best compact i ever used.
anyway, i like the color on the LCD of S95. it's look better, more saturated.... but, when i view it on my monitor, the photo disappoint me a little. i have to pp to get a better photo.

i googled and seems like most of the ppl out there have the same problem. how you guys adjust this? pp every time?

I can feel your despair with slight hope.

I just use a golla case for my S95. Fits perfectly, cheap, velcro, comes with hook to hook anywhere, and also got one compartment inside the case and another zipper compartment behind. Perfect to keep SD cards.

on the way and i ordered my own first compact camera S95!
but i realize that a lot canon S95 user use for few day and sell off...
what happen?  hope that i would not regret to get an S95. 
because i give up using my dad DSLR.  too fussy and complicated for me.

i am tempted to sell off my S95 for S100.

adam - u so good , i am a lazy user - once the camera perfromance deteriorates wth time, i get tempted to change the camera

i still got that 'bright spot' in the mid of the pic whenver i m on auto mode and profile mode - even after sunning it !
