Such Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas are all great Dharma-Princes who had been empowered through their crowns (Abhiseka).

Interesting part is when he starts to meditate and he is surrounded by gods, bodhisvattas, and the others.

Boddhisvattas haven't attain the ultimate enlightenment yet what.

Also, that's why Avalokitesvara still remains a bodhisvatta as he vouched not to be enlightened until everyone else does.

Either way, only Buddha-hood is considered achieving Nirvana. CMIIW.
