More details on the N9, most probably from the Nokia Conference a few months back.

Pay close attention to the so called "Dali":

QUOTE
The latest I've heard:

- penta-band
- 12MP/Dual LED
- 64GB
- Capacitive touch

No confirmation on QWERTY. I would assume "no" because of capacitive touch screen.

In addition to above,

- RM-690 (I'm not 100% sure, but fairly certain it's 690)
- quad-band/penta-band (so it will support every 3G band under the sun like the N8)
- 720p HD recording
- 4" 16:9 capacitive multi-touch screen
- about 0.5-1.0 centimeters thinner than N900 (I forgot if he said 0.5 or 1.0, LOL)
- 13x0 mAh battery (I forget to check, but I suspect the display to be OLED and I was told battery life is expected to be better than N900)

Like I said, the specs are incomplete so there may be small changes/additions before launch.

Now, shockingly (or not shockingly) there will be another MeeGo device, known as "Lankku." I was not able to see specs, much less get much info on it.

Another shocker... one of these devices may be launched towards the end of this year and the other around 2Q-3Q 2011. I forget which one, but I'm pretty sure the goal is to launch Dali at the end of this year.
Interesting specs. Not OH WOW but really practical IMHO. Shame no details about the processor/RAM. If it's truly AMOLED, I'd say now we know where all the AMOLED panels went (Nokia bought them all and stocked up on them) that caused the shortage which prompted HTC to switch to SLCD.

From the Engadget leaks, I could see that the N9 mainboard looks somewhat similar to the N900's (from personal experience), so we can very well expect a 1gHz processor and above and AT LEAST 512MB RAM plus virtual memory - and everything else the N900 has. I'm hoping USB-OTG is here as well.

The early design is bleh, really, but so was the N8 when it was leaked. Hopefully the designers will do some revisions before we get to December.

BTW, Nokia is leaking like a sieve. Intentional like?

Those specs are really close , But we don't know for sure.
And from what i'm noticed , Nokia loves to leak pictures on the net while other phone makers don't. They just announce and release it on time.

Nokia leaks to compensate for delays lol. Not that I care much, I still like my mobiles to be workhorse-quality (read: campak dinding also will survive) and Nokia has never failed me yet on that respect (my 3530, N-Gage, 5800, N97 Mini and N900 was all bomb proof).

Also, the Engadget leak mentioned the product code to be RM-680. Dali was supposed to be RM-690 or something. Coincidence? Or maybe Dali IS RM690 and is the one due later and the supposed "Lankku" is the one leaking right now.

Or it's something entirely new.

Personally I wouldn't mind an 8MP camera really. But it's supposed to be a flagship, so it can't lose to the N8, at least in terms of megapixels (the N8 has Xenon flash and a bigger sensor to make it the imaging champ).

God, I need internal access to Nokia. Might hit some of my supposed internal moles soon, hoping he'd be cooperative enough to spill some beans lol.

And SOMEONE PLEASE do something about that huge amount of wasted space everywhere on the screen and on the keyboard, Nokia. Please.

Semi-official leaked pre-prototype. And I HOPE it gets at least an 8MP cam lol, like super_evil_alien said, 12MPs on this thing might drive the price up to unbelievable levels.

But then there's still that "Dali" specs to think about hmm... hmm.gif

@nncl: don't worry, it's an AMOLED screen at least 800x480, maybe more.

@Patent: Generally the specs people would expect from a high spec mobile device.

At least one released last year. Nokia is behind the times yet again.

I mean, another Snapdragon? A last gen QSD8250 (the Nexus One chip) is not gonna be able to hold a candle to the next gen dual core chipsets that are gonna be released by December.

So Nokia, why? A 1ghz Cortex A8 would have been sooooooo much better (I'm an OMAP person after all). Or an A9. Or a Samsung Hummingbird.

At least that 1GB Nand storage shows promise, especially if some of it is used for swap rather than just rootfs space.

Still, it's just a rumour.

BUT if Nokia decides to dump last gen specs on a flagship device AGAIN this December, let's just pray that Meego is mindblowing enough to make people forget.

That's a different phone, the E7/N8-01 arr boss. The N9 is the Meego superphone supposedly, but yeah, post N8 Nokia's design team is moving towards angular design and now 3 phones at least look similar lol.

But IMHO the new chinese specs, speculation or rumor or whatnot is more credible IMHO. Why would Nokia move to Snapdragon when basic OMAP 3430 is good enough when clocked properly to 1GHz?

But 1280x600 reso? NOW THAT'S ludicrous.

Atom for mobiles DO exist, it's what Intel calls Moorestown. I don't know about the battery consumption, but it's a blardy fast processor - AND Meego was practically designed to run it lol.

The only thing I know by instinct is right would be the AMOLED 4-incher and 64GB internal storage. I've heard that thrown around so many times edi lol.

Everything else are merely rumours and speculations. My only hope is they build it right and test Meego enough, they can take all the time in the world to tweak it to perfection.

I have the N810 to wait with.
