Any Desire CyanogenMod6 users here? Any report on the battery life?
Reason I'm asking is on HTC Legend I observe 0% battery reduction since unplugging it 3 hours ago. I don't know it's fake indication or what, will observe it for longer but if it's a real battery saver, I would go for it on Desire |

So the test result for amoled vs slcd is out... amoled is the winner in battery department. Which means that the slcd version will have shorter battery life... and I thought that my desire battery life already quite low...
Edit: Can read the whole thing in engadget... This post has been edited by limjonyee: Sep 14 2010, 12:17 PM |

No offence but google is so convenient now - do read it up yourself. First and foremost, read the FAQ put up by our dear friend, Mr. Mike Lee at the first post. It is a good start for newbie. Secondly, read your user guide. Learn the basic from there. |

Though that SLCD was better in battery saving, it is actually the AMOLED wins in terms of battery performance. |

QUOTE(bryan_823 @ Sep 14 2010, 01:09 PM) http://www.engadget.com/2010/09/13/spot-th...-versus-amoled/ its a hard comparison btw, AMOLED is more friendly with blacks to batterysave, works well with htc sense.. SLCD native phones have light coloured background and ui to save up power from showing colours.. When we are talking about daily usage, it really depends on what apps u use, how u customize the colours and also web browsing which uses a lot of white indeed compared to blacks..Though that SLCD was better in battery saving, it is actually the AMOLED wins in terms of battery performance. video playback, games, htc sense ui navigation = amoled friendly web browsing, certain apps with which backgrounds = SLCD friendly the former test on batterylife tested on top notch android smartphones showed that SLCD shines and that test and performed by continuous web browsing.. SLCD beats AMOLED and Super AMOLED roughly by 3 extra hours.. http://blog.laptopmag.com/android-battery-...-handsets-trail Perhaps for HTC Desire and HTC Sense phones, amoled should be better for its UI colours n such.. the GalaxyS itself has a very dark high contrast colours on its UI with less white indeed u will see, purposely designed for power efficiency on super amoled This post has been edited by pluginbaby: Sep 14 2010, 01:37 PM |

Hmm, I partitioned 1GB of ext3, thinking I could fully utilize the space. But somehow I after installing apps, I only used 200MB of ext3 and 100MB of internal storage. I'm left with about 50MB of internal and 650MB of ext3. Does this mean when I ran out of internal memory, the rest of my ext3 memory will be useless?

Basically Yes.It is really depends on what apps you installed (How much space it going to utilize on internal), i also have 1GB ext3, currently left 500MB++ on ext3 and 60MB on internal. I expect by the time I used up till 20MB space on internal I might still have at least 200MB on ext3. I am using a 16GB SD card so it doesnt matter to partitioned ext3 to 1GB instead of 512MB. I just dont want to end up in a situation that the ext3 is full but still have space on internal, then i would need to re-partition again just to install more apps, re-partition will wipe all data on ext3. |
