What is purpose of dog bone?

I'm new in this thread, pardon my noobness..

Proton waja original 1st version.. Waited 6 months for it to be delivered. Now nearly 11years already and 170+k KM..

Been using petronas fully synthetic ever since no more proton "free" service. I heard and read some comments that petronas fully synthetic not recommended. How come? Since that is the case, which should be better choice? Mobil 1?

I lazy person, never go service the car one, one time change, I drive 10k or 15k, one time, forgot so terror until 20k never service.. Like 1 year service 2 times only. Hehe..

Now, comes the part where I want to change my car tires. (new year mah, CNY nearly here and thus, have to travel outstation, safety is important for family man..

I'm thinking of changing to Goodyear duraplus.. Good choice? Currently using continental comfort conti 1.. Nt sure how much the mileage already but still got little bit of thread. However, I scared after it aquaplanning.

Would appreciate some advise from all you forumers here.
