Hi guys, my Waja just broke down yesterday and today sent to repair, just wondering if I've been paying a fair price, my car automator or something with pronounce that way break off and cox my battery to stop recharging so i've to push my car aside until my uncle came with a new battery. A few gentleman assisted me in charging but the effort is in vain..

The below are the cost

My Waja
1. Driving Belt - RM95 (include the automator + aircond belt + another dunno what belt that is also nearby that area)
2. Plug (4 units ) - RM48 (told me is time ups d)
3. Tuining - RM15 (was not sure why but mechanic said already run)
4. Air Filter - RM19 (this is in bad condition as he show it to me so i said ok change lo)
5. Coolent water - RM16 (i thought we just pour normal water but the mechanic said by time to time need to clean the rust but thhis)
6. Terminal 1 side - RM15(the one to hold the battery - Red side because the screw also lossing d)
7.Windscreen washer fluid / break oil / power streering oil - RM8 (do we need shampoo for windscreen washer ?)
8. Charge battery - RM6 (because already kosong)
Total - RM222.00

At the same time also i drive my Kenari there because i've place my car at his garage at the night time so at the same time service lol

Kenari
1. Engine Oil / Oil Filter / Battery Water (sheel Hx5) - RM65.50
2. Labour charge - RM5
3. Spark plugs (3 units) - RM33
4. Windscreen washer fluid / break oil / power steering oil - RM8
Total - RM134.50

And on the time when we do all this service a few error place was found but due to budget i told him that i will come next month so i need to know if the price i'm paying is fair or is this mechanic honest enough before i proceed the next repair which is in higher cost, the things that need to change is below;

1. Suspension back 2 units - RM270 + labour cost (cox got sound d)
2. Tire 2 side - RM180 x 2 = RM260
3. Fan starter - RM70 (was told that the fan could not auto start if my aircond was not on so the temperature will get hot, unless aircond is open then is ok)
4. XXXX - RM 50 - 70 - 80 (i seriously dun get it and can't remember the name, but was told if need to change the fan starter have to change this thing as well, anyone got idea what is it ??)
Total = RM rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

Did i pay a fair price ? cox i just owned this waja (2nd hand) and this is my 1st repair after 4month from day of purchase.. all sifu kindly advise me this new member of waja club sweat.gif thumbup.gif

i'd say that the price is fair. But for RM15-tuning, i doubt he did anything right, as in, he needs a PDT scanner to get the tuning right in order for your car to idle and run properly yet efficiently.

His charge for the oil change is SUPER cheap, whereas workshops these days charge rm15-25.00.
*
I see, then maybe it would not be problem for me to send my car for next repair for the suspension and tire and dunno what fan starter, is this fan starter really cost so much ? RM70? i see is a very small machine only wo, i see he only use a kind of skrew driver or what ever u call it and turn left and right on the further top of my engine cover, then he press the fuel, then turn again, then wait and see, then turn again like that he call tuining lol and charge me RM15 for it, no PDT scanner or whatsoever cox i dun see any high-tech device there...
also 1 thing just now i drive and found out, my fuel padel feel harder after repair.. feels like i need to kick it when i want to speed from 90 to above..
he did not change the break oil or the steering oil only top up wo also consider cheap ma ?
also 1 thing, i use to service my gf kenari back in my home town teluk intan and they will give u back the remaining black oil but i never get it here ? is it normal ? cox i forget the price so i cannot compare the service charges - infact this is inside a shell station so he ask me to pump RM30 then cna get discount where the price is usually more than RM65 <-- true ?

I think thats a Fan relay which should cost RM20.... i think you have fallen into marketing traps! I doubt that the mech screw up your settings because 4G18 engine idling cannot be preset that way you mention, it had to be in SAS mode only you can tune the device. I bet your car idling when a/c on and off is different now.... If a Waja tune with SAS mode, the A/C on and off should be maintaining the same RPM and very stable idling. Your acceleration feels slower because the Air Intake mode went into safe mode already due to tuning not in SAS mode. Now your fuel consumption should be terrible.

Give a ring to Elton to get proper guideline as im not in Msia and i cant help you here lols.

Geez maybe i've but am not sure also, i was worry as my next repair is my suspension and tire which i dun see any equipment to do allingment there, i worried if change this 2 thing there later allingment become worse then before as now also not straight...

Steven got Elton number ? Elton operates a workshop ? huhu really need guidance la ~ i'm not sure either if it's a fan relay or wat but he call it fan starter that will automatic start the fan when i close air-cond to reduce heat, otherwise i have to ensure my air-cond is always on when i'm driving, this is what that guy said but it cost RM70, hmm Steven u think this is a marketing trick, since thunder said my previous repair was a fair buy ? or maybe he give me a fair price the con me the next time ?

is it running better after recalibration tht day?
Once absorber is changed, it is a must to do alignment and the workshop will prolly ask you to go do it yourself at a tire shop. You can call me at 012-9096996, i am Elton lol.
Which shell station workshop did you go to?>
*
Haha Sry i just realize 1 stupid things, i put my car to wash straight after repair since it's in shell station tha equip with car wash so the indo pull my carpet (the rubber use to hold sands) too front and block the pedel, when 1st i just squat and see i din notice it until just now i double check again, so the pedel problem is solve.. since you could do alignment why dun do my absorber as well ? given a fair price tongue.gif , the shell station is located at ampang, somewhere near a corner into bintang mall (i guess the name only can't remember)
So Elton u got your own garage for repair ? where is your location ?

QUOTE(zaidi @ Oct 17 2010, 02:50 PM)
i would say mix of fair and cut-throat price. plug RM48 is quite steep. normal should be less. Tuning, if just to turn a screw to make idle lower, my mech would do that for free each time i change my engine oil. and he did not check you alternator(automator) problem. it should be checked to make sure it charge your battery properly. rear suspension, oem kyb gas is should be around Rm150/pair.

i'd say this is bad bengkel just to get more $$ from u.
*
Ya i found strange also when i see the bill tuining RM15, i never knew he is charging tuining cox when i stand there he just told me now i do the tuining for u and i just say ok lo cox i see he just use a screw driver to turn left and right never know it's chargeble.. RM48 + labor ? i dunno how this guy counts, does this oem kyb gas is good enough for normal user like me ? durability ? but i think his RM270 for both rear absorber is including labour if i not mistaken..

QUOTE(mxsteven @ Oct 17 2010, 03:05 PM)
he charge you cheap for labour but not for parts... and he will do his own way and make sure you pay. All the labour amount is small but when sum it up, you can see where ur money goes lols

Seems like rear bush..... try to spray WD40 on the bush till u catch the sound.
*
Lol that means i kena CON d cry.gif by the way this WD-40 really that good mah ? how much does it cost ?

Yngwie:
1. Not the timing belt cox mine just change once i buy so should not be problem, it's the alternator belt, air cond belt and another belt at the same place
2. I cant differentite, but from your price list it's for sure a standard one then... cry.gif
3. Kena CON 99 this part + this is the only part he never tell me that is chargable doh.gif
4. selamat sweat.gif
5. selamat again sweat.gif x2
6. not sure but because when i try to take off my battery i can't really move the nut as it move all together so have to use another playar to hold on the other ends, so i make decision to change it maybe i was wrong also zzz
7. so it's should be more or ?
8. Selama again x 3

Suspension / absorber <-- see Elton got provide this service if yes i try to go his place
Tire <-- forget wat name d, but i ask early can get goodyear or not he said that all good tire u cannot get in 180, so i was not so sure..
Fan <-- maybe true cox sometimes when we stop the car for sometime with engine on, sometime the engine / fan like moving got sound the awhile slow down then maybe around 2min again, like up and down so i not sure this is to change or not cox he said this cost RM70 bucks + if change this have to change another dunno what thing also that is nearly 100 bucks zzz

I rent a room at ampang area, inside korean village opposite ampang point, throttle body cleaning means ? full body check ? hahaha sorry for being noobiez notworthy.gif
