Even so, barring unforeseen errors/mistakes by the merchant/Mastercard/Visa, the CS should not say auto debit of utility only earns 1%.
*
Ai…guess what? Today I called CS and they gimme a different answer.
- Auto billing only entitled for 1% rebate (Same as yesterday but different from 2 weeks ago)
- Online bill payment entitled for 5% rebate (This is different from yesterday)

Now I’m waiting for their email reply for official black and white confirmation. I guess their terms and condition also make them blur blur. We need a lawyer here tongue.gif

i failed my ocbc titanium i think because i got too high credit limit on other cards. they would total up my credit limit from other bank and then compare the risk of me maxing out all the cards.

so.. moral of the story is.. high CL not necessary good esp if u have multiple card.
*
Maybe they wanna offer you the platinum card since you have high CL?

Somehow they will see whether you have a good repayment history (do you miss any due date before?). They may check the CCRIS if you are holding many cards I guess.

Need to qualify that .... high CL should commensurate with your income/net worth smile.gif

Been in the same spot but the difference was my Term Loan (to purchase a property) was denied and had to reduce the CL on one of my card to reduce my overall credit exposure tongue.gif

I am not so sure that totalling the CL of all cc's owned thus establishing the quantum of risk is the criteria used to determine the eligibility for a cc. Income is without a doubt a huge determinant when applying for a cc. Perhaps other factors are equally as important as income and maybe someone in the banking or cc industry could shed some light on this matter of how and why cc applications are successful or declined.

Just wait for somebody paid with the auto-billing to know the answer.

Looks like those of us (including me) who meet the eligibility criteria for OCBC Titanium MC but still fail in our application have to learn from travelyew - appeal by email to cap@ocbc.com and/or pledge FD? However, he did it before OCBC re-launched their Titanium MC. jack2 and Lara_, can share more? All the best chemistry and kons.

My application history for forumers' analysis:

1. 8 Sept 2010 - Application submitted by email to Lim Tiong Shing @ Johnson Lim <JohnsonLim@ocbc.com> of OCBC Credit Card Department, Unsecured Loans, Mobile: 012-3453683, Office: 03-27833072, Fax: 03-27111098. He telephoned me shortly after I indicated my interest by keying in my mobile at OCBC's website on 6.9.2010.

2. 9 Sept 2010 - Missed out EPF statement in previous day's email - duly forwarded to Johnson.

3. 13 Sept 2010 - Telephoned OCBC to make sure papers are in order. Customer Rep informed that my application is not yet in the system but they will check, she asked for their staff name and my personal details.

4. 18 Sept 2010 - OCBC Customer Rep telephoned to inform that account created - application however is pending recommendation? (not sure). She also added that according to their system, the deadline for OCBC to decide on my application is 24.9.2010.

5. 22 Sept 2010 - Telephoned OCBC to find out status. Still pending approval.

6. 23 Sept 2010 - OCBC Customer Rep telephoned in the evening that application declined by management - reason not known from system. cry.gif Also told that I should re-apply AFTER 6 months as otherwise automatically rejected by system.

7. 24 Sept 2010 - Appeal?

Hi LYN forumers out there, did you guys see any OCBC promotion booth at any shopping mall or hypermarket? Please inform me if there is. TQ. biggrin.gif

If I recall correctly, someone mentioned seeing OCBC booth at 1Utama on 18/19 Sept. Seems that there should be a booth at Fahrenheit 88 as there were many OCBC Titanium buntings (which mentioned free gift) although I could not locate it.

My application date is almost the same as yours.
OCBC just call and check with my company whether I'm really working here.
Right now I still don't know if my application has been rejected.
Shall check with them in October.

I use my HSBC as reference, CIMB photocopy HSBC only..
I also used my HSBC credit card as reference. RM30k really is enough for HSBC credit card apparently. Anyway, they still asked for my income document. Age is the problem here. It will be a few more year before i reach my mid-20s. Told them i am just a student. Therefore, i won't be able to to give them my income document. They asked me if i have any FD with them but unfortunately i do not have any. So i asked them to cancel my application. Might try again when the opportunity comes next time smile.gif

Most major hospitals do accept AMEX.

There are four escalators on each floor. Two going up and the other two going down. You have to walk near the end of the mall. The booth is next the second escalator. And regarding the mall, there isn't any interesting shop inside whistling.gif

Actually, age is only a factor if you are below the legal age. For your case, its because of income/net worth. If you are say, a CEO of your own company or has substantial FDs with them, then guaranteed approved. Had a friend, already owning multiple plat cards even as a student as he has millions in FDs (that time, no WMC or VI)

And yes, agreed with you, the only thing hot about the Mall is in its name rclxub.gif

Balance transfer would only offer you a short brief of between 3 to 6 months but if your income is still adequate to pay them off, first thing you need to do is cut off the card and bite the bullet. If not, then AKPK is the next best option hmm.gif
