Previously my connection keep on changing to EDGE and finally I figured out what's wrong. In the option of "Network" I realised mine was 3G PREFERED, changed to 3G ONLY and the problem is solved.
Even so, I try to refrain from watching Youtube because the streaming speed is just too "fast". Surfing the net is ok thou...and by the way whether it's morning or night for me the speed is still more or less the same, probably close to zero people is using celcom around my area.. |

Guys, few questions:
1. Youth package, is it still available for us to subscribe? Cuz i am now using rm68/mth, but the guy behind the counter said its unavailable anymore. 2. Do you guys have frequent disconnections? Mine frequently disconnects, i've noticed it occuring when i'm idle. If i'm idle for 30 mins or so, then its justified. But how about idling for 10 - 20 secs? |

Perhaps you should try ping-ing to avoid idle. Just open command prompt and type : ping -t www.google.com , <- or any website Sorry, can't really answer your question.. Just based on my experience |

Penang island isn't small and perhaps your area is far from the signal tower and thus connection isn't that good as you thought. Frequent DC and re-dialing is seriously a very common problem for most of us (celcom user).

Dunno what really the cause is. Perhaps it's the congestion This is not really a solution, but you can try to set your modem to auto-redial when disconnected. Like mine QUOTE But what i do is, whenever we connect using the Mobile Connect/Mobile Partner (or you modem dialer software), there will be a new Windows dial-up icon for that modem in the Network Connections folder. Whenever i want to connect my celcom broadband, i only use that windows dialer. I didn't use the Mobile Connect. So, cannot really monitor your usage. But after you dial using the windows dialer, you can open Mobile Connect to monitor your usage If you did open the dialer software, you cannot close it using the normal close button on it window (X button, right, on top). If you do so, your celcombb connection will be disconnected. If you want to close the dialer software, you must use the Task Manager, search it Process, and end it there. That way, your celcombb connection will NOT be disconnected. To make it to auto redial, just right-click on that windows dialer (in the Network Connections folder), go to Properties > Option and set you preferences Must connect using the windows dialer to make it auto-redial when disconnect You can even create a shortcut for that dialer and place it in windows Startup folder so that it will automatically connect every time my windows start |
