regarding ABS braking sys, from my understanding: it wont activate under panic braking. it will lock deadly if u press ur brakes in a sudden. my friend told me from his experience with ford ranger ABS and isuzu dmax ABS.

ABS only activate IF the system detect the wheel slipping

it wont activate even if u brake suddenly because the system detect that the wheel is still spinning, NOT slipping...

lol, like that oso u notice ar? tongue.gif

Anyways, if I understand correctly, the whole point of ABS is to allow users to brake quickly without the wheels locking. When a car has ABS, you cannot pump the brakes like you would on a non ABS car. This would negate the ABS. You're supposed to just depress the brake fully without letting go.

Did your friend try turning the wheels when he was braking hard?

nope... even if u pump the brakes on the ABS car, the ABS still works

u cannot pump faster then ABS...

i pump my car which is equipped with ABS and the ABS still works

Wheel slipping I assume means locking of wheels? Well, this mostly happens when you brake quickly, mar. tongue.gif

When you pump your brakes, you're actually reducing the ABS' efficiency.
ABS is meant to stop wheel lock, not stop sliding. It just so happens stopping wheel lock reduces sliding in most road situations. That's all.

I'm sure your friend has a good reason for telling you this. Maybe it's due to him being offroad all the time. The quote above explains that ABS actually increases stopping distance in offroad situations.

It sounds like your transmission mounting or engine mounting koyak edi. Better do what coolkwc said. Send it to the workshop to get it fixed.

wheel slip and locking of wheels is different

if i fly over the bump and i just tap the brakes lightly, abs will still kicks in
wink.gif

nope, depending on how u use it.... i pump my brakes often going up and coming down genting to make use of my ABS
wink.gif

MAIN point of ABS is to allow u to steer around obstacle NOT shorten your braking distance IN A STRAIGHT LINE.
