Hi everyone,
I'm gonna buy my first car soon, maybe end of this year or start of next year.
my choice is saga blm se manual metallic red, or inspira manual
erm... can anyone recommend me a good showroom to buy from? around KL area, and i plan to loan 9yrs then slowly reduce the amt and the yr.
i heard ppl said better dont buy car at year end cos the car value will be lower(2nd hand car dealer can cheat you and sell at higher price)
should i buy this year or next year?

Enuf said if u need to think very hard about Inspira, just get the cheapest Saga.

For pricelist and payment plan, please refer Proton edar website, there is loan calculator there.
*
hmm, local cars especially proton are a big joke in quality, so should i just own a cheap car like saga blm, then get a better car or just save money to buy better car like vios or honda city?

ron 95, RM1.85/L so  RM54= 29.2L

ron97 , RM 2.10/L so RM60=28.6L or 27.91L if follow current price..

so u see, it's not because ron95 is better than ron97, it's just because u get more Litre when u pay for ron95...

next time try calculate by km/L or L/km instead of using RM/Litre

VIOS is a big joke in price for over RM80k. I rather spend on Inspira.
*

what car should i own actually? any comment? i never own a car before that, not even 2nd hand car

+1 on that.. with that price range I rather go for Inspira. Test drive the car the other day.. gotta say it feels good. But you know lar, Proton is well known for it's kik klak sounds, minor problems etc etc.. don't know will these problems be found on Inspira as well.. Only time will tell.. hmm.gif
*
Hard to say mate, almost every component in inspira is from lancer, only the creative team of proton engineers add in the so-called lotus handling, means the suspension is based on lotus. correct me if i'm wrong cos i know nothing abt cars just poking around overheard ppl said that...

anyway, i think i just go for saga blm se for now, fresh grad only ma, still got ptptn loan... cry.gif

I'm afraid the Saga BLM does not come with ABS. At least my M-Line 1.3 (A) does not come with it. sad.gif
*
i see, then can saga blm equipped with abs+ebd? passenger airbag sure can installed, but those 2 parts?
if cant i'll just save more money to get inspira d

You can consider Persona before Inspira.

persona car big but passenger compartment small. summore that is a car that i'll drive with long face, pay installment monthly with sobbing face, send to workshop for maintenance with sour face

maybe saga blm is best for me atm... then after 5 years i'll go for better car, hah, local made craps is best for a stepping stone to other better car, that's what proton for. no offense, my personal opinion.

If u have this kind of thought, good luck to you.

5 years is not short period, if u think u drive a crap car, even 1 month will let you suffer like hell.

My advise, instead of buying 'crap car', just go for 2nd hand T&H, good enu for you, else u will fall in love with this 'crap'.
*
i'd wouldn't post on the forums if i go for 2nd hand cars. i definitely wont get 2nd hand car because of high maintenance fees and the car is not a virgin(wahaha), i dont like ppl do this do that in that car and summore kentut on that cushion, then sell it off to me, you like or not? walao eh. so 1st hand is the only option.
so i really wanna know saga blm good or not for a newbie like me who drive car very chew cheng(handgun/clumsy)
so the car i want, manual is a must, cos i like to hear the engine roar.
no rumors this that, i wanna know the facts only, abt saga blm, not banyak lagi masalah, buruk lagi mahal, belum lagi mahir...

most important thing is, 2nd airbag? abs? ebd?
if can include those i'm sure vios and city can gulung tikar d, proton engineers read this pls, instead of sqeezing your brains to cut cost and increasing more import duty to foreign cars smile.gif

For new car, constant speed and highway cruising is not the best way to break-in the engine.

Added on November 23, 2010, 4:47 pm

Yes, it come with 2nd airbag and 4 power windows, but still no ABS and EBD, because if yes not Vios and City gulung tikar, but Persona from Proton itself. Only Persona H-line which >60k come with this functions, if BLM included all this and sell for <50k, who want to buy the car which is 10k+ more expensive for only 0.3L engine upgrade and slightly larger cabin from BLM? try to think about it.
*
you got the point dude, sigh, i think that's a good bye to saga se metallic red...cos new saga definitely better in many ways, and should be called the SE instead. i just asked a SA, they said the price might add 2k like that, and booking is available now.

add 2k from what? SE or current M-line?

Engine same, transmission same, i dun see better in many ways, only those accesories which aren't neccesary (except airbag).
*
that's why la, not to badname proton, but they really lack of innovation and marketing strategy. something lack in proton imo is passion. without passion food is tasteless...
all cars standards should have abs+ebd equipped nowadays. many carmakers have followed that and they succeed, but proton?come on la wey do something better other than price cutting to win our heart...
erm, ok, how much to mod the car for extra 2 power window, audio control on steering, and extra airbag for passenger? anyone know how much? if like that i'll go for current se

not so sure, but based on this article below they have low spec and premium, the article said rm3k increment but my SA said rm2k... your call

In fact, manufacturer always link safety as 'accesories', if no money, no safety.

If i am going to choose accesories for my BLM Saga again, i will want:

1. Price as low as possible.
2. All Safety features included in all line, even B-line got dual airbag + abs + EBD.
3. I can sacrifice rear power windows, decent stock player with steering control, fog lamp, sport rim.

But it won't happen, i also dun know whats wrong with that. Cheap means no airbag or single airbag, well, for latter even Toyota did that.
*
add airbag how much, add abs+ebd possible? i think i just go for saga se, cos that car so far is the car i fall in love with... brows.gif

not nice la the facelifted one..looks weird..the front is not "smooth"...and the rear brakelamp so small...weird..

the current SE version still the best..
*
+1 to that, though they got 4 power window, extra airbag and audio control on steering, it's still not worth paying and extra of rm3k to get those, here's my point:
1) how often you'll use the rear power windows honestly?
2) airbag can be installed.
3) steering, i think can change, but it doesnt hurt to move your arm a little further to adjust the players smile.gif

compared to SE, still worth it, leather seat, brilliant red, bumpers, grill, black hood, it makes me feel like the car that i'll be happily paying for

The front looks too Inspira-ish to me. I still prefer the current Gen-2 / Persona front.

imo the front like the head hit by hammer, the head design is somewhat nice, but it doesnt fit into saga, bcos of the overall body

I'm quite surprised that they've started taking orders when they haven't even officially announced it.

My question now though is whether they'll continue the SE model after the facelift. Judging from what they did with the Persona, I guess not. So maybe you should get the red SE after all, before it's discontinued. I think it looks quite handsome and it was quite a difficult choice for me though I eventually settled for the white one.
well actually i'm sitting on the fence whether should i get saga m line, se or inspira,
but i've made my decision thanks to your advice smile.gif
