Wanna ask you guys, is the IAFM tak tak noise still an issue for latest IAFM part ?

Mine was sounded since 1 year ago and i don't care about it, now it's getting worse with 2 types of sound and much louder already.

Part price is Rm 250, where can i get good and cheaper labour to change it ?

not under warranty?

I only did 3 times free labour service + 1 time major service that cost rm RM 500+ back in 1 years ago and i'm not bothering going back to those unprofessional and expensive service anymore. So can i still go back in sudden to claim for the IAFM ? haha..

I don't think they will bother me now, and the money i save for being SUCK by proton is more than 800 per year, and it's time to spend some to replace certain part.

Then called proton spare part center and they're selling the whole iafm module at Rm 250. How much workshop will charge ?

Added on October 7, 2010, 3:32 pmAdding more, i have changed the IAFM module before and that was foc. After that not more than 5 months the sound comes back and fuel consumption increase. Now my AUTO BLM FC is 250-280 full tank.

Now the low end torque adi suck, if change to gen2 one ma getting worst. Not recommended la.

No torque = Heavy foot = high FC, at the end, nothing gain but lose.
*
Haha.. give me 5 rclxm9.gif

Not only money matters, every time i go HQ have to take 1 days leave, sitting there like a headless chicken keep waiting and waiting until the end of the day.

Changed to visit authorized SC, still need about 3 hours just for changing oil and filter, then keep noising about "If you don't change spark plug, coolant later you car got prob we cannot responsible". Now i responsible for my own car, stop sucking my money tongue.gif.

Every time i bought eneos semi 5-30w + oil filter + Labour = RM 110, it's much better than psyntium semi. Spark plug changed to iridium where it can last for 100k. I chose toyota radiator coolant at spare part shop at RM 20 only (Can last for 40k), do it myself rather than being charged Rm 25 for those tesco like tin brand of coolant that proton SC sells

It is wind noise coming from side windows or from engine compartment ?

Look for Kent Goh, he definitely will give you the cheapest and best service you will ever experience. Just installed ARB for my BLM, it works great and not so much worry about hard cornering already

I thought of doing the same thing also. I plan to use a better fully synth oil which is shell helix ultra.

Added on January 29, 2011, 8:58 am
Atf can be used in power steering and the auto gearbox.
If power steering only need 1 bottle.Auto gearbox im not sure.
*
I tried shell helix ultra full syn, the engine is noisier and more heavy because the oil is thicker than SC's petronas semi. Try eneos semi 5-30w RM 95. it will make your engine more powerful and quiet good to drive. It is 7k change interval.

Proton genuine ATF III is not so good, every morning you will notice the gear change jerk or sometimes even after engine heated up. Try mitsubishi DIA QUEEN ATF III, it will improve your gear shifting a lot.

If some 1 hesitating whether the car can use mitsubishi ATF, go and take out the gearbox ATF level checker, see what it's printed on it "use genuine Mitsubishi ATF III" (The gearbox is from Mitsubishi anyway). The gearbox capacity is 4.7 Liter

Don be surprised, i even pump every week.

Recommended by factory is rear 190 front 210 for comfort ride, you can pump more for that, maybe 10-20kpa, result slightly better handling but slightly stiff ride.
*
I think it's depends on what brand of tyre using, stock tyre "Good Year" need me to pump it every 1-2 weeks, and now i have changed all to michellin, 1 month once

Added on January 29, 2011, 10:19 amGuys if you have iafm problem "tak tak tak" sound and your FC is suck, it's most likely the causer, repair or replace it.
