QUOTE(enCORe @ Aug 19 2010, 12:59 PM)
timing belt replacement still long to go some say 40k officially 80k, which filter ?
*
Timing belt can last for 100,000km but recommend to change every 80,000km cause reason of traffic jam, car warm up and your engine is still running.

QUOTE(xshiro @ Aug 19 2010, 01:44 PM)
anneysays, my gf just bought a viva elite (more expensive than my saga blm m-line  doh.gif )...seriously...no power...door is so thin...and the car is so light..space is limited...saga blm is definitly more solid and if safety is important...why not a saga...better package..
*
Because viva is Daihatsu engine and our BLM is Proton engine.

anyone face problem while driving off and on can hear like "cit cit" sound coming from engine area? my car got this weird sound dunno why but i dont feel any problem with the car, just off an on got this weird sound..wonder if its IAFM issue
*
The noise "cit cit" when your air-cond kick in or sometime the belt suddenly turning fast? If i not mistaken is tensioner bearing.

There is a special belt condition to spray on belt and worry that SC ppl might don have this and dunno what will they spray for you.

QUOTE(DaBestOne @ Aug 26 2010, 09:09 AM)
everything rm300? or gotta plus normal service and clean throttle body sumore? how come so expensive 1? service in proton's service center isit?

Btw, I heard comments from my friends that servicing your car at dealer's service center such as perodua, proton, honda, toyota... is very expensive and it's better to just service in those normal bengkel since the service they provide is similiar, but much cheaper. Is that true? Is servicing the car at normal bengkel fine to go with?
*
Service in SC center they warranty you, service outside bear yourself.

QUOTE(klk89 @ Aug 26 2010, 09:16 PM)
Just out of curiosity, does manual Saga owners feel a significant power loss when the air-con compressor kicks in even if you floor the accelerator?
*
This is normal for lot car, air compressor kick in need a lot of volt so will slow down a bit.

Fully sync interval service 10,000km
Semi sync interval service 7,000km
Mineral interval service 5,000km

Choosing the engine oil are depends on your usage, for sure more higher grade provide better protection and more power. The different are the oil based and additive.

Is the BLM 1.6 is just the normal Campro 1.6??
*
Yes, normal 1.6 Campro IAFM as same as first batch persona using.

QUOTE(zero_hour @ Dec 17 2010, 06:02 PM)
no cutie,i saw BLM with 1.6, its a campro a.k.a cps  smile.gif
*
Campro not equal CPS = =

The Campro IAFM (Intake Air-Fuel Module) is essentially a basic DOHC Campro engine equipped with a variable-length intake manifold, developed under a joint fast track programmed. However, the IAFM different from the VIM (Variable Inlet Manifold) for the Campro CPS engine in terms as follows:
1. The IAFM is a stand-alone module that can be fitted with a basic DOHC Campro engine whereas the VIM needs to work in conjunction with the CPS system in a Campro CPS engine.

2. The IAFM is operated by the engine vacuum while the VIM uses an ECU-controlled solenoid.

The Intake Air-Fuel Module for the Proton Campro engine debuted in Proton Saga BLM. It was still in advanced tooling stages, and ever since then everyone has been eagerly awaiting for the first Campro to roll out with the new air fuel module.

With the IAFM, the 1.3L engine used in the Proton Saga BLM produces 98 bhp (73 kW) @ 6,500 rpm. The maximum torque is slightly reduced to 113.2 N·m (83.5 ft·lbf); however, the engine has broader torque range and the noticeable torque dip in the basic DOHC Campro engine has been eliminated. However, the official brochure is only published with the familiar 94 bhp (70 kW) @ 6,000 rpm power and 120 N-m @ 4,000 rpm torque for consistency with other 1.3L Proton models.

Meanwhile, the output of the 1.6L version of the IAFM engine which debuted in the 2008 Proton Gen-2 M-Line produces 110 bhp (82 kW) @ 6,500 rpm of power and 148 N·m (109 ft·lbf) of torque, and the torque dip around 2,500-3,500 rpm has been eliminated.

Applications:
2008 Proton Saga
2008 Proton Gen-2 (M-line)
2008 Proton Persona

Choose either myvi or blm is better. More reliable. For auto i will recommend Myvi, the engine respond better.

My car is service every 2 months after 7k+ since i took it outside workshop service (CHEAPER and no need to book for any appointment). 10k is Proton standard. If you bring to them they will tell you every 10k only service.
*
I though they use semi and interval service every 5,000km?

Yea that is the thing! they are using semi and service every 10k interval. I think it's inside your booklet as well. It's written service interval
10k - minor
20k - major
30k - minor
40k - major
50k - minor
60k - i SOLD my car but it's major
70k - minor
80k - Major + Change timing belt, rm900 for everything

But once i've taken out i follow the mech's recommendation which is 7k change interval for 10w-40.
*
Since i never been to Proton service center so i really dunno. Because I hate to wait and dunno what they do to my car.

Quality side mirror housing around Rm180-220 with paint but without installation. Rm250-280 with paint & installation. The surface quite smooth but only thing is the lens might fadeout or yellowish after 1-2 years.
