I got similar consumption as well. Auto. Roughly 9 - 10 km/l. Used to be 10+km/l, but consumption has gotten worse since the SC switch the engine oil from 5W/30 -> 15W/50 ... haihhh

The FC is all about reaching your cruising gear at cruising speed as soon as possible without accelerating too hard to get there and when ur there, maintaining there as long as possible. Did I make any sense?  sweat.gif

hmm.gif I got around 9 - 10 km/l by using Caltex ron97....plus using Mobil 10-40W semi synth oil.

Newbie, can I ask your feedback on using 5-30W oil? I mean your experience coz thinking of switching to that viscoscity...

Many thanks..... thumbup.gif

Maybe I should qualify what I said. I can't be 100% sure, yet. I'm only on my first refill. I plan to give it another 2 refills to get an average. As it is right now, the second refill looks on track to be 9+km/l. sad.gif

If that is true, means the 5W-30 oil gave my car better FC. Seeing as everything else has remained the same.

Right....I am guessing that ur ride is on ron95? Any difference on the rev? At best, my car seems to pick up good speed starting from 3k PRM onwards & mine is an auto. Urs?

Recently replaced brake pads & shoes with Bendix (Titanium) better bite but the screeching sound of metal-like is still obvious. Any solution apart from changing the rear drum to disc?

Guys, cry.gif .....my car has broken down again (2x). I was away from M'sia for 1 week & left d car "unstart" only to come back to find d car can't be driven.

Turn the key, feels very light but engine got sound. Check the bat....(turn on headlights), it was workin normally. Check fuel...still got half a tank. Check timing belt...no putus. rclxub.gif

D 1st time car broke down was due to some ECU electronical problems....mechanis came & suspected it was the same problem. He said something to do wif the code configuration. Hence suggested to take back to Proton for warranty repair....

Anyone have experience this b4? Mind sharing? icon_question.gif

Eventhough your headlights can still work normally, doesn't mean the battery is fine. You need to get one of those meter thingamajigs to check the condition of the battery when starting a car. I've seen batteries that power the headlights with no problem, but fall below minimum when the starting the engine.

Did check on the battery....weird thing is....some depleted beyond low level but some are still noticeable. Did replenish d depleted ones...& mechanics checked battery wif battery volt. tester....working fine.

Somehow the turn of ignition is lighter than usual...... hmm.gif

Oh...did checked on the alternator too just ensuring it not to jam up...gave it a bit of knock but no changes.

So turning your key ignition thingie feels loose? I'm not sure how the car could fall apart if it's just sitting there idle.

Well whatever it is, I'm sure the mechanic will figure it out.

Now...I have 2 get it towed to Proton sc to get it diasgnosed..... sad.gif & that will cost some $$$$.

Will update u guys about the faulty area for future reference....

Thanks!

if i'm not mistaken, towing should falls under ur insurance company.
some give few km free for their policy owner.

To confirm on the batteries, after few ignition tries. check ur radio channel. if its get reset,
there's no more saved channel...that means your battery kong already.

Will check wif d ins co.

Radio reset..... hmm.gif Good idea but too late as car now in Proton sc... sad.gif

Thanx 4 d heads up bro. smile.gif
