QUOTE(bloxxzone @ Mar 18 2011, 05:55 PM) try modaco visionaryhttp://android.modaco.com/content/software...one-click-root/ also get an app freezer to freeze out stock bloatwares (tried paid version of titanium backup - works well); there are some freeware too that do the same but haven't tried (bloatware arent started as services and the system becomes more responsive) then use Link2SD to install apps to SD (much better than FroYo's stock app2SD) - i've got 20+ games but still 50M+ free i also use Zeam to replace the stock launcher - much smoother+faster. apps freezer, Link2SD and Zeam are all available in the market. with these you'll find this tablet to be much more usable |

Guys, I just came back from the recent PC Fair and I noticed the new batch of Mi700 has an updated firmware (something to the effect of PR3.7****), which has an option of 'software update' in the status tab. I tried asking the guy manning the booth about this but he just walk out on me. This is just plain rude...
Any of you guys have this firmware on board? |

Yes..mine have the "Software Update" tab but it's useless as CSL Malaysia does not have any OTA (Over The Air) updates till now.Any of you guys have this firmware on board? I have even called their CS Dept and they said they have no plans to have any new FW update or 2.3 update. Kind of lousy support from CSL Malaysia. |

QUOTE(raoul @ Apr 18 2011, 05:02 PM) Yes..mine have the "Software Update" tab but it's useless as CSL Malaysia does not have any OTA (Over The Air) updates till now. I did a review of the Mi700 a few months back and liased with CSL since they gave me the review unit. Though the product was alright (before the Tegra 2 tablets were launched), I noted that CSL service was very bad. Can you believe it that they only have 2 persons developing on Android, and NONE of these are on the firmware for the device but for the lousy web apps that were included in the device? It was horrible since none of them even understood what root access was or even the firmware updates. They basically rely on Foxconn's updates and have no one to customise it for the local unit. My advice is to follow the releases from Europe, where the firmware is much higher and advanced. I have even called their CS Dept and they said they have no plans to have any new FW update or 2.3 update. Kind of lousy support from CSL Malaysia. All the best. |

come to think of it, i regretted buying this tablet for the support. better invest a bit more and get a Tab or even iPad. disappointed with CSL. they should've known better that most of us bought this will be using it for life, not just another tossable toy.

Yeah, that's what I got when I emailed them few months ago. Will look into the MoDaCo ROM installation later...I have even called their CS Dept and they said they have no plans to have any new FW update or 2.3 update.
