A Sharp technician told me this: for Sharp and Toshiba, if its under warranty, there's insurance claim available for theft. as long as you have police report and warranty card and/or invoice (the shop you bought it from might be able to retrieve it from their computer)

can claim from Toshiba if ur tv is less than 1 year. First year is covered by insurance inclusive of theft.
Must made police report and evidence of forced entry. Thanks and hope this helps. Kevin |

Thanks guys. I've already made a police report and hand it over to Toshiba along with my warranty card and original receipt. They said I can get a new replacement TV in 45 days minus the remote control. I got to buy those. Hai yah..... leceh betullah gotto spend another hundred bugs for those. The thieves even had the cheek to steal my Home Theatre remote...They did not steal the set though. However the insurance and waranty will still be based on the date of the 1st tv waranty period.
My advice is please keep the documents ina safe place. |

Why manufacturer never introduce security like Bios password or something. Meaning upon you ON the set you'll need to input the password and only service center have the software to reset the password in case loss or something..

guys, buy a house holder insurance is a better option. For a coverage of RM 50,000 on all your house contents, the premium only cost you slightly more then RM 1.00 plus a day. You have your peace of mind, and free your worry from bulgary, burst of water pipe, floor, fire, lightning strike.
Best thing, you do not need to curse ppl die of aids or car accident If you need to know more information, drop me a PM. |

But purchasing a houseld holder insurance with a coverage of RM50k, they will only compensate back 33.3333333% of your total coverage. Which means you'll only get back RM16,666.666. Anyway, it is still better than nothing.Best thing, you do not need to curse ppl die of aids or car accident If you need to know more information, drop me a PM. |
