How's the lag online? I might consider getting the original just for online

Sigh, can someone just answer my question? I know what is the difference between pirated and original games k? I had a sh1t load of non-original games for my PS2 back in 2005-2008. I learned from the PS2, that if you don't have the original CD, you can't play online; so, does the Wii work in the same way?
