firstly, decide who is your kapitan. the kapitan will be in charge of the binder, gong and dragonator. no one else is to touch those three weps unless kapitan allows.
secondly, to go for the kill you need a minimum of two teammates wielding fully upgraded ala weapons (if none, use the best dragon/ice weapon that you have). these two teammates will henceforth be known as the Smashers.
responsibilities : kapitan will man and guard the ship. the ship's health is the kapitan's responsibility. the Smashers are in charge of breaking jhen parts. non-Smashers and non-Kapitan teamates stay on the boat and shoot ballista if jhen is far, cannon if jhen is within bombing distance.
jhen breakables : jhen's back has two gray spots that can be broken. mining on his back should only be done when both these spots have been smashed. both jhen tusks can be broken. both jhen front legs can be broken. in summary - a total of six areas can be smashed, and should be smashed to guarantee a kill.
ammos on the ship : there are two shooting devices on the ship - the ballista and the cannon launcher. you can carry up to 10 ballista shots, and one cannon ammo. ballista ammo can be collected near the front of the ship, and cannon ammo at the back of the ship. to launch cannon, just go near the launcher and press x (or is it a?). to shoot ballista, select the ballista ammo in your pouch, stand near the launcher and press x to use launcher, aim, press a to release. (for ballista, aim the tusk whenever you can)
play by play
all 4 members will spawn in the ship's belly. kapitan takes ballista binder from the box. once you go up the stairs, jhen will start appearing on the right side of the ship. at this point, most people will begin collecting ballista ammo. jhen will shake rocks off his back - so prepare to be hit. jhen shakes rocks off his back twice before he swims nearer to the ship. annoying delex will be flooding the platform at this point. once jhen approaches the ship, he will shake rocks off his body again - this will be the third time he does this. at this point, kapitan has to be in position, ready to shoot binder. jhen will begin to pull away so that he can body slam the ship. as soon as he pulls away, kapitan shoots binder. jhen is rendered immobile, and cannot body slam. cue cheers from teammates.
shortly after this, red arrows will appear along jhen's body. Smashers will climb onto his back to start cracking his back. tip - walk to the other side of his spine so that you will stay on his back longer. if you are on the side closer to the ship, you will be shaken off pretty quickly. teammates on the boat will continue spamming cannons, and healing Smashers if their health is low.
eventually jhen will shake everyone off his back. by this point at least one spot should be broken. Smashers will be swimming back to the boat. jhen flies from the right side of the ship to the left side. he will swim along the ship for a bit then disappear beneath the sea of sand.
the next few moments is critical for the kapitan. one of two things might happen (Scene A) - jhen will either reappear at the left corner, or come in from the center. if he appears at the left corner, kapitan who is ready with binder will bind him. if he appears from the center, jhen is about to belly flop. whoever is on the ship at the moment has to standby at the gong to assist the kapitan to gong jhen. cue cheers from teammates.
you can also stack bbl+ near his tusk at this time to bomb his right tusk. now jhen's tusk will be resting on the ship. this is the second opportunity for Smashers to climb onto his back and crack his spine. kapitan and whoever is on the boat will spam ballistas on his tusks to break them. jhen will do several tusk swipes - when you see this happening run to the back of the ship and stay safe. dragonator area is also a safe spot.
jhen will then sink back into the sand. by this time the back should be done, and at least one tusk should be broken.
one of two things will happen next (Scene B). if jhen did not appear from the center in Scene A, he might appear now to belly flop. kapitan is to position him/herself at the gong and prepare to gong jhen. if jhen doesn't appear, then he will emerge at the far left distance, swimming.
kapitan then moves to dragonator area. other teammates can collect ballista ammos or sharpen weps or cheer kapitan. jhen will start doing two dives before he eats the ship. kapitan will deter him with dragonator. the dragonator moment is when jhen completes his first dive and is about to take his second dive. when done correctly, jhen will not touch the ship at all, and will be stabbed by dragonator. cue cheers from teammates.
after this episode, jhen will reappear on the right side of the ship. this is the last opportunity to climb onto his back to crack the spine. if the spine is already broken, then this is a mining opportunity. jhen will body slam ship again. if binder is ready, kapitan can stop the body slam by binding him. anyone carrying a decent ice/dragon wep can start attacking his leg from the side of the ship. after a while, jhen will fly to the other side of the ship again.
one or two things will happen here (yes again!!). if jhen did not appear from the center in Scene A, and did not appear for gong moment in Scene B, then jhen will DEFINITELY wanna do a belly flop now. kapitan to prepare him/herself at the gong and gong the heck out of jhen when he appears. cue cheers from teammates. final showdown will begin shortly after.
final showdown
jhen is at a far distance hiding behind some fog (coward!!!). all teammates shoot ballista at him, aiming a little higher so that it lands nicely on jhen. when jhen's puny feet appear out of the fog, Smashers will run to his legs and start damaging it. kapitan can opt to bind him at this moment so that Smashers can smack him.
jhen will progressively move closer to ship. when he is close enough to do damage to the boat, kapitan will have to decide how to thwart his attacks. for belly flops - gong him. for tusk swipes - bind him. if he is close enough, can use dragonator to thwart these attacks as well. non-Smashers and non-Kapitan teammates will be spamming ballista if jhen is far, and cannon if jhen is near.
when jhen goes turtle and lays on his back momentarily, you can climb onto his mouth. you can mine, or slay attacks. careful when you are in his mouth though, he does substantial damage when he flips back onto his feet.
if you and your team did well, jhen should be die. otherwise, hold the fort and keep slaying until time is up and you will have successfully repelled jhen.
