I bought the PS3 because im interested with the free online gaming service, and im planning to buy a lot of Blu-Ray movies and PS3 was one of the cheapest Blu-Ray player at that time. I'm also one of Playstation loyal fans.

I didn't buy the Xbox360 because im scared of the Red Rings of Death, im only a student, soo it be kinda hard for me to buy another Xbox 360. The other main reason i didnt buy a Xbox360 is that i have to pay to play online. Seeing how i really want to play online badly, the fact that i have to pay to play online puts me off.

I didn't buy the wii because i didn't like the gaming line up and i don't really like the controls of the game, im more of a classic gamer .

Once again, i appreciate all your answers,stories, help.

Ps3 because at that time waiting for ffxiii and no it was not multiplat when times were simpler.

Didnt buy other console because i dont think i need more then 1 to be hook up to my tv. Even with just ps3, my backlog is huge...

I bought xbox360 because of Gears of War , PS3 for Heavy Rain
I love both of them

ps3 for mgs and gt5

Bought these 30 something consoles/handhelds and accessories






Because of these 800 or so games (and counting)

Bought a XBOX360 first because i wanted HD gaming and because XBOX360 can play ahem ahem. (I don't do ahem anymore nowadays)
Then i got the PS3 because the 360 kena 3ROD.
Then my PS3 kena lens rosak.
Then i got the Wii because Capcom releases Resident Evil games on it (although not the mainstream series).
So far am happy with all 3. Although all 3 are kept in cabinet now. Am playing PS1.

Waiting for Wii/PS3/360 become retro only then start playing?

Wii – because of rich content, and hot titles like Mario/Zelda/Metroid series, to me, next gen isn't about who has better power graphic processor, but a new+different gaming experience.

Why didn't you buy the other console?
XBOX360 - 3ROD, game titles not appealing to me, gaming experience is XBOX with better graphics & online experience.

PS3 – game titles not appealing to me, gaming experience is PS2 with better graphics.

7th generation, perhaps?

Wii for its intuitive and innovative play style.

PS3 because I wanted a HD console and settled with something that had Malaysian warranty to it.

ps3 - nice games, some of them exclusives
wii - nice games, some of them exclusives
xbox360 - nice games, some of them exclusives. but no money yet to buy. maybe later bundled with kinect.

360 only. already enough to occupy me with whatever time i have left.
but GT5 does look really tempting..

not rich. gaming is really one of the cheapest hobby. if u look at cost per hour spent on this hobby, its the cheapest hobby.

gaming is cheapest if u just play...collecting games, ce n consoles is not

maybe cos its just me as a student, i can only afford like 1 game a month....

even for workers, most of them can only spend 1 games in month or two. Family > games

at the time i didnt think of buying any other game,but ofcourse now it's a different story.

everytime i think of buying another console, a collector's edition of some game comes out...everytime i eye a new console, a limited edition of some game comes out...whenever i make plans to buy a new console(set month,budget,etc) some other purchase comes up

latest example:
Halo Reach Xbox360

not a fan of Halo,but a big big big fan of collector's editions
so yeah,this console looks

but just as i make plans to grab it come release day, Starcraft 2 CE comes along...and makes me want to get a new pc instead

(for now) a never ending cycle

thankfully now games pretty much cost >RM100 so it's way easier to explain to them how a "student" wont be able to afford it much.

I've been into console gaming since 1980s and it's been a personal indulgence for me to escape from the real world into a virtual world. I started off with Sega Megadrive and a Game Boy. These fascinating console and hand held were very expensive back then. It literally takes me painstakingly months to save just for the two electonic gadgets (I come from an average family and definitely no silver spoon available).

Fast forward to current situation, I bought my PS3 system and XBox 360 without taking months or extra consideration even though I have other priorities/commitments.

For me, it's a personal indulgence. Sadly but true, when you are working you have the cash to splurge. However, you simply do not have time for it as you used to. It's a give and take situation and I'm contented with what I had and have.

but it's true...it's really ignorant that some parents bring in their kids to watch 18PL/SX/SG rated movie but it is also at the fault of the cinema for not imposing the rules of not letting them in

Hmmm.... i dun like FPS too, but i bought Xbox360 not for FPS, there is many good and exclusive game in xbox360 is not fps game.....

Some people just assume there's only FPS on 360, while in fair comparison it has more variety than PS3 where most of its hit titles are nothing but FPS

so far, looks like in malaysia the popularity is 1. ps3, 2. xbox360, 3. wii. but worldwide popularity is terbalik 1. wii, 2, xbox360, 3. ps3.

It shows there are more hardcore gamers in Malaysia than anywhere else in the world

if u own all 3 consoles, u r casual. anything with wii in it is not hardcore.
if u own xbox only, u r hardcore sesat. hardcore must always own ps3 first and foremost.
if u own xbox and wii: u r gay casual. xbox and wii don't mix even for casuals, so if u own both u are gay casual. coz gays always think differently. there are no gay casuals in malaysia thank god. please keep it that way.

I have not bought a new game since March. The last was FF XIII and Yakuza 3. Both took me 5 months to play and platinum.

u not alone, i also thought at one time ps2 is the only console in d world. until i left malaysia. the last brand new game i bought was a hardcore casual game called mario galaxy 2. then i sold my gta4, ghwt, and r2v6, and with the money i got 2nd hand mgs4. well so far mgs4 really sucks. i still love mario galaxy 2 more. really i hate being a casual gamer

my big eager then.. when PS2 came out, i bought 2nd gen -phat (the box with black color not the early one -blue) . then the lens rosak and i get so frustated to bring my lovely ps2 here n there to repair. So i get 2nd body to replace mine - bought from LYN member.
Then i bought PSP slim -white sexy for mobile

PS2 - always be my loves. i'm a lady play Racing ,FPS and some other dark game lah
*now i'm prepare money for getting PS3 slim...Yay!

PS3 - because I'm a bit 'connected' to PS.. played games since PS1 to PS2,
plus PS3 games seem to be more appealing to me compared to other console games.

I like to collect consoles & games.

*PS3 - likes certain titles non other consoles have (e.g Gran Turismo 5 etc)

*XBox 360 - likes certain titles non other consoles have (e.g Gears of Wars etc) + can play ahem games

*Wii - the controller is just so revolutionary

Other consoles owned : Nes, SNES, SEGA MegaDrive, Sega Dreamcast, SONY PS1, SONY PS2, SONY PSP, XBox, N64, GBA..

I played games since since 7 years old...that time my brother paid everything

I bought PS3 because want to collect blu ray game and blu ray movie...Ori version.

Bought Xbox at 2006 but cannot play anymore due lens problem (Repair few times, changes 1 time but still the same). That why I stopped support Xbox.

Wii - Support PS3 at the moment. Maybe if Wii come out with the better version, I will buy too

i Got an PS3, so far quite satisfied though .

i bought it because i like their exclusive games and can play blu ray. And i kinda think Play Station sounds better than Axe box

The xbox could play fake games but heard that yu will be banned from playing online. My friends also said that playing online is troublesome (idk why they said that).

Seriously, i rather pay rm200 for a ps3 game with ITS COOL CASING and able to play online.

Ps3 because of MGS series(dam u kojima :'( ) and also for their mind blowing games from ps2. also loved the free online multiplayer

xbox 360 because of halo.......i only have 3 games for my xbox (big ass kotak hitam version) halo 1,halo 2 and spyro. REALLY love halo series i think ps3 have no comeback for the halo series, they tried with killzone 2 but did not hit the spot.


currently playing halo on xbox when ever i get the chance and its quite fun to be trash talked to by a 13 y/o kid lol
