Coz sensor same.... D5k ISO1200 like very noisy dy.... D5000 got ISO 1200 ? I thought from 800 straight to 1600, no ? D90 ISO at 1600 still acceptable. |

QUOTE(mrl @ Sep 24 2010, 09:11 PM) got to ask this... what's the difference between other brand flash (el cheapo YongNuo, Nissin to name a few) and Nikon SBxxx??? I don't trust third party as there will always be issue eg connection / triggering and etc.But di866 is good. Metz also not bad. YongNuo ? My friend and I take it as wireless flash. Throw it even at road side |

QUOTE(fabianz03 @ Sep 24 2010, 09:29 PM) Di622 is kinda same level with SB-600 but much easier to use. eTTL - Incorrect. So it's good ? Build quality SB-600 obviously wins. Recycle time on the Di622 is like waiting for a food in a restaurant... Power I'm not quite sure but Di622 covers 24-105mm Di622 is VERY VERY tight on my D3000 hot shoe, YES I MEAN VERY VERY TIGHT. But pricing wise, Di622 wins hands down. I own one myself and I gotta say it's quite nice actually for a n00b like me. One thing that SB-600 doesn't have is the bounce card. Di622 has it. EDIT : @KTCY - You can't say it's no good, it does all the job that the camera wants. Just the SB-600 is better than the Di622, cannot say no good. Slow cycle even on same battery. 2700mAH. I don't think I wanna miss a moment with this lame reason. 24-105mm ? My friend uses Sb--600 which has 85mm only on 200mm lenses, no problems at all. My few birding friends uses SB-800 with 600mm, no problem also. That's not the factor. The reason I say it isn't good because slow recycle time and also incorrect TTL most of the time. Well, you can choose to use manual la. But the manual power also cacat. Just a few level. Not that I can choose like 1/16 power with -1/3 or -2/3 power. So, better spend on something better instead of spending twice and regret later !! |

QUOTE(fabianz03 @ Sep 24 2010, 09:52 PM) Yeap, you got it all right. Yes indeed. I just voice out that I feel it isn't a good flash. On budget yes. For good flash, it's far away from good.I can't call the power level to be "cacat" because I see the flash as a more "user friendly" type flash. Good for beginners like me. Incorrect TTL only accours on the flash facing forward, if tilted upwards, it works well. Just need some "time" for the flash to finish recycling. I won't expect something RM700+ on a RM400 flash. Besides, it's also up to mrl to choose what's he thinks the best for him. 866 is good. |

QUOTE(Vampyr3 @ Sep 24 2010, 10:40 PM) tried around f20-22 before but f8 is the sharpest though fast shutter speed ? I uses 1/4000 to 1/8000 on 5dMKII wow, 1/320s......haven't tried that fast a shutter speed yet...my other settings are the same as yours....hmmm,prob that's why it's overly exposed for mine, slow shutter speed! Thanks for the input bros, will improve the next round! Nothing wrong with faster shutter speed la. QUOTE(mrl @ Sep 24 2010, 11:01 PM) wow... nice review on Di622... though one of my concern is the recycle time... i'm seeing i might stick with kit lens for quite some time before getting another good lens... how slow is the recycle time??? a figure to compare between SB600 and Di622 might be good... Wait when Sb-700 available, SB-600 will have alot.i had tested SB600 before, and it's brilliant... just dont know how does Di622 fare against SB600... like what KTCY said, i dont want to spend twice... but if Di622 can get average job done, i might consider it... mostly i'll use it for indoor shooting... or anyone letting go their SB600??? But do remember, flash not recommended to buy second hand. you don't know how previous owner has tortured the flash. |

85mm G is slower than D version. I mean focusing of course.
And 50mm G, too slowe than D version. But this one tested on D90 body la. Only D300s it's slightly different. D3/D700 is fast. Tested. |

QUOTE(Kent3888 @ Sep 27 2010, 10:48 PM) Wat do u meant by that? Using D90 body, 50mm G slower that D version, but D300s is slightly different? If D90 motor is fast enuf to drive the D version pass the G version, den need not to say better body rite? D300s / D700 / D3 and above all focusing motor is better than D90. |

QUOTE(Kent3888 @ Sep 27 2010, 11:22 PM) After thinking around, I think u wrote wrongly izzit.... using D90, the D version is slower than the G one, but D300s n above, D version is faster.... Betul...?? Nope. On D90, D is faster. But D300s above, G is no longer as slow as focusing on D90.Try out yourself if you're confusing with my words. I been playing with it Added on September 27, 2010, 11:30 pmAdd on : The slow focusing isn't that big problem after all as I find G version a little sharper at wide open This post has been edited by KTCY: Sep 27 2010, 11:30 PM |

QUOTE(Kent3888 @ Sep 27 2010, 11:33 PM) Haar?? G is driven by internal SWM motor ma.... D is driven by body motor, but how come G version is faster in D300s above compare to D90, G version's speed should be constant as it's using it's own build in motor, juz D version is the variable based on the Camera focus motor speed rite.... Arrrgghhhhh Like I said, you SHOULD try out.Even it's driven by the lens motor but the auto focus modules on the camera body makes it different. Who say it will be consistent ? I find it a little vary on FF body. Talk so much also no use. This thread user can only use G lens. Forget about the D version. This post has been edited by KTCY: Sep 27 2010, 11:37 PM |

QUOTE(seng87 @ Sep 27 2010, 11:56 PM) Discussion over in this forum is to get and exchanging information rather than asking people to forget about the D lenses.. If u can't provide accurate answer to fellow forumers, u shouldn't have start stating the differences.. Please be polite to other forumers... I already said and stated it clear mate. He don't get it.What I was saying is 50mmG on semi pro body perform better than on D90 due to the AF module and also the camera body performance. It isn't merely lens itself although it comes with SWM on the camera. And the last sentence I add in to tell that D can AF on lower end camera body (which I know most of the user here already know about it). If you think my post is rude, my apologizes. Didn't mean that but you know, sometimes wording might bring out different meaning especially over the world wide web. This post has been edited by KTCY: Sep 28 2010, 12:04 AM |

D3100 is a replacement for D3000 IIRC.
Wouldn't be surprise to see the price for that cheap. |
