Purple moon? What lens is this? Is this CA or you edited it this way?
*
Was using 55-200 lens with fluorescent white balance if i remember correctly. Hmmm, now that you mention it, it does look kinda purplish. Thought it looks bluish from the dslr lcd. Didn't edit the color other than cropping it and darkening slightly.

QUOTE(nkymark @ Sep 24 2010, 10:39 AM)
The top part a little overexposed to me. Just my 2cents.
Cheers
*
Yeah, can't see much details on the top part coz didn't edit much, pic looks pretty the much the same straight out of camera laugh.gif

Agreed.....
I think you overexposed the top part, so u cant see details of those craters....
*
Yaya, so need to either set faster shutter speed or set exposure compensation? I tried spot metering and 1/60 shutter at f8 or 9 for this one. Don't know what settings to put, experimented around but still can't get an even exposure for the whole moon....

Dark areas will be dark of course, just avoid clipping on the histogram to avoid any overexposure.
*
okie thx, now i need to learn how to read the histogram more accurately.

QUOTE(Kent3888 @ Sep 24 2010, 02:42 PM)
I use manual mode for shooting mode, I don think it's suitable to use camera's metering, as it will definitely overexpose it, unless u compensate alot....!!
*
Can use manual metering?

have you tried closing the aperture a little bit more??? i wont go for exposure compensation anyway...
haha... i'm in love with RAW after few days i got my camera... hehe... the only setback it have is, need more memory...  laugh.gif
*
tried around f20-22 before but f8 is the sharpest though

QUOTE(H3LLKEEPER @ Sep 24 2010, 08:37 PM)
bro try using a lower iso...higher shutter speed and higher aperture for the moon to realy show its details..
it was overexposed to me tho
let me share my settings for moon shot
Spot meter,1/320s,f8,iso 200
i suggest using manual than exposure compensation in this condition though
GND?
nice pics
*
wow, 1/320s......haven't tried that fast a shutter speed yet...my other settings are the same as yours....hmmm,prob that's why it's overly exposed for mine, slow shutter speed!

Thanks for the input bros, will improve the next round!

Anyone noes what is the price for 2nd hand 35mm 1.8f? I'm eager top get 1, but running low on budget. Coz I own a D5000 which does not have AF motor, so I dun have much lens choices. In da prime lens range, 35mm is 1 of da cheapest adi, compare to 50mm. So anyone noes da price n any shops selling 2nd hand lens to recommend?
*
Prob around the range of 600-700+....i just saw one guy selling at rm600 in garage sales for a mth old 35mm but he was in pahang and only does shipping so i skipped that....lol, the only 2nd hand shop i know of is YL at pudu plaza

QUOTE(ayrton @ Oct 5 2010, 12:01 PM)
Guys and girls, I need some help. Technical problem here.

Wanna ask you all who are using lenses with M/A feature. Does your M/A ring still rotates even if it reaches the focus limit either at infinity or closest focus?

I got my brand new 35mm f/1.8G last month and now I am a little paranoid about the focus ring on this lens. The ring still moves around if I apply a little bit more force on it. Even when it reaches the focus limit, either at infinity or the closest focus distance.

Is that just normal? Or I am thinking too much? Please help, thanks. unsure.gif  unsure.gif  unsure.gif

I just got mine 2 days back and been testing it......so far, i don't see/feel the ring rotating even when focusing normally or at either side of the limit.....but it does feel a bit flimsy though
