Hi, just got myself an iPad.

Want to ask, what is the solution to extend windows 7 desktop display with an iPad?

I found the apps 'iDisplay'. Unfortunately, it only support windows xp and Mac os.

Any advise?

I also did try connect my Touch HD to my iPad.. no problem whatsoever to copy images.. but cannot copy movies. different format, i guess..

Who knows how do i upload photos to facebook using ipad? so far i believe none facebook application@ App Store can do that.. even paid one..

If possible, i dont want to use the "uploading photos via email" option.. look uncool  yawn.gif

Bro, you have 2 options:
1. download Facebook for iPhone, upload with that apps. This is the way I use to upload photos.
2. Get yourself 'social for the ipad' apps under category networking. It shall works.

P.s. I'm currently using 'friendly Facebook browser'. Nice apps but does not support upload photo.

hi, guys, I downloaded some movie with mp4 format but i cant seems to sync it over to ipad.

what is the best video convertor for ipad now? ( free will be nice... biggrin.gif)
*
Try this 'OPlayer HD'. Basically you can play all formats of movie including high resolution mkv. This way, you don't have to convert and save your time.

Another cool thing i like this apps is you can upload the movie file from your pc to the ipad over wifi. Just open up your Internet browser with a unique ip given from the apps and upload. biggrin.gif

you can go check all apple website to check all country's price haha...i think US is cheapest because currency is low now.
*
Previously I thought the same like you.

Do remember that you'll need to pay around 6.5% GST (government sales tax) on the spot when you get it from us. I got mine at 499 + 35 usd. It's not cheap after all. blush.gif

QUOTE(silverhawk @ Sep 8 2010, 08:38 PM)

I'm using the one by SGP Stenheil. Since its Anti-fingerprint and anti-glare, that means the protector is a "matte" surface, which reduces the clarity and sharpness a bit. Though I don't feel it effects it too much, it still looks good. The matte texture also gives it a nice feeling when using your fingers to go move around. Finger print marks are almost non-existant and the anti-glare is really useful (makes things more readable).
*
This is good explanation. I'm using the same quality sp and find it reduces the quality display of an iPad comparing to my friend's iPad using normal sp. My finger sweat a lot, so I have to use this kind of sp.

Reading on iPad is important to me. I could stay on and iPad for 3 hours straight. So this sp kind of match me.

i second that.
iPad without connection to the internet can be boring at times. blush.gif

Nowadays some device support wifi thetering. My friend's samsung wave works perfectly to pair with the iPad wifi. Good thing is sometimes i share his connection too.

Btw, iPhone can do this too if you jailbreak + install mywi. smile.gif

vlc is my best movie player..

now i am using Oplayer. Pretty good without converting the videos from rmvb, wmv, avi and even mkv.

Only issue is no idea how to swap audio channel when the movie got two audio languages.
*
Try setting, audio setting, then audio stream index. smile.gif

I hope they increase the amount of RAM from 256MB to 512MB in the iPad 2.
With tweaks/mods (Winterboard), 256MB of RAM isn't very sufficient.
I install a lot of apps and games which are about 200 - 300MB each.
*
Do you face 'crash out to home screen' problem with your current mod?

which means u are forced to ur home screen? hmm, is this gonna get worse once the ios 4 multitasking function is made available?
*
I personally own iPad and iPhone 3G. iPad still works fine at 10+ mb memory, but iPhone 3G would be freaking lag. Which means A4 processor does matter.

Plus, if you read most of the iPad apps, you'll find that most apps get updated due to apps crash issue.

I tested the famous 'things' and 'manage'. 'Things' first impression to me is, 'crash out to home screen' when I input my very first task.

'Manage' so fast so good.

wah that is surprising. supposedly after the latest ios 4 update, the iphone 3 lag issue shud be solved? dont work huh?
*
FYI, I rollback to os3 when I'm using ios4.0.1 for my iPhone. Really cannot stand it.

Anyway, iPad is my savior, running wifi at both office and home. Trying to conduct my daily mobile work activities on my iPad like push email, contacts and calendar. Both my idivices get synced together either way I input my activity.

Any microsoft exchange user around? brows.gif

yeah another question. supposedly ipad has 256 mb ram right? How can it be so low at a measly  10mb+ ram? bcos u are using other applications as well?
*
I jail broken the iPad. Then activated sbsetting and backgrounder. smile.gif

Kinda hardcore user here. So i need to monitor the usage.

Forget to mention, the highest available memory while you doing nothing, like just restarted, your iPad actually left 160+ mb ram. Just like iPhone 3GS. But the a4 processor does matter and much stable than iPhone.

If you have 1 push email account, it would left around 140-150mb ram.

When I'm running the 'friendly facebook browser' it will goes down to 60-70mb left due to temporally memory needed to store the internet cache.

oh, so if ram is too low u r unable to use skype?

err so i guess ram usage isnt that heavy if i dont jb it? i dont plan to jb it anyway.
*
Not too low until 10+mb la. I rarely go until that hardcore.

No difference on the ram usage whether you jb it or not. You can google around, some says faster as some pro users go beyond jb like hacking the system, over clock, etc...

Don't forget to close the tabs that you opened in Safari.. Many tabs, many ram consumed
*
This is one good tip. Some friend of mine just don't click the cross button after they open more than 5 tabs.

I'm sorry to say, you need to jb + activate sbsettings to perform this task.

I just did a test run, having clock radio, push email, friendly facebook browser running at background while answering you now in safari, the memory left 43mb. Still working smooth. No worry. As I said, even if goes down to 10mb memory, you still won't feel lag as this is using a4 processor. Worst case is the the iPad will kill all apps and back to home screen only. biggrin.gif

Took the screen shot. Can only think of upload to facebook to show you if you insist. smile.gif

Btw, bro. I don't think you need to worry about this la since you don't do multitasking. iPad does not support that unless you jb+ activate backgrounder. blush.gif

Hi all, just wondering, after a few days/ months of having your iPads, how much space had you used?

Trying to decide over which size should i get. The bigger the better or too much is a waste.

Thanks in advance smile.gif
