I just got a 32GB iPad WiFi + 3G. I know Maxis offers microSIM but that would mean I have to subscribe to another data plan. I have an existing 3GB data plan for my iPhone. Can I use the Maxis multi-sim and get a microSIM but share my 3GB data plan? Is it possible?
*
you cant share the 3GB data on your ipad. the multi sim only allows you to save cost on making a new account/line just for data for the ipad. you still have to pay separately for the micro sim for your ipad.

Not 100% related to the iPad but how fast is maxis/digi 3G?

comfortable enough to use it a lot? or is it slow?
*
it depends on the area you are using it. around KL area, if fairly equal, but is best you try out both in your area before using one. to try just get a prepaid sim card and buy the 1 hour or 1 day pass.

@ksc_3688,
Do U notice the speed slows down tremendously when U connect more than 1 device on the MiFi?  Is it just me being too sensitive or what...?

Any feedback from MiFi users?
*
It actually depends on the strength of 3G in the area you are. I don't face any problem when I'm in area where I have strong 3G coverage even when connected with multiple device

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but calling it an big iPod touch is like an insult to such great invention.

Ipads is different from iPod touch can be clearly proofed by the points singled out by string. iPod touch has limited capabilities compared to the iPad.

I guess he was just trying to make a point on what extend it can be different from the iPod touch and of course the great apps that can help us fully utilize our ipads rather than just hearing songs, watching movies and playing games.

guys, my mom will be going to paris around mid-dec.
Do you think I should wait for next gen or buy it?
*
Mid December? By then you should be able to get it here officially. And of course by then the 2nd gen iPad is around the corner already.

I have a 3G iPad.
If I want stable, fast and cheap internet connection on my iPad
What plan shld i suscribe and from which telco.
I want to use it on the go and at home.
Thanks!

My location is at Subang Jaya
*
The best thing to do will be get a prepaid sim card for all the telcos and try out which is the best in your area before you subscribe to one.
Since you are subang area, I guess any telco will be fine but it depends on the strength of the network in your area as well.

Em would u guys mind explaining to me what is the mifi abt?
If i use it with my iPad,is it good?
Thanks!
*
Mifi is a wireless modem that can be used with your sim card. It can last around 4 to 5 hours on a full charge and can be used by 5 or 6 devices at 1 time.
You can use it with any wifi enabled devices like iPad,iPhone, laptop, iPod touch.

Should you recommand is to wait?
What I want is a front camera! Maybe a rear camera or something like retina display.
*
I would say to buy one now if you have the cash, but if you are going to wait till December, why not wait for the next gen of iPad which would release in the 1st quarter of next year.

requires a separate power source =  home router  smile.gif
E585 runs on rechargeable battery, just like the mobile phone
*
Well said. After all the main advantage of the mifi is portability, which the aztech router can't do.

Had a lengthy argument with maxis sunway pyramid today. Went there to get my multi sim for data as I called CS yesterday and they told me can get.

And they guy at maxis sunway said can't share the data.

Hi, I am new to this Thread. I just bought an iPad 16GB WiFi + 3G just four days ago. As mine is with 3G, I need to have a microSIM card if I want to browse the net outside a WiFi area/hotspot. I have one question. Can I use this microSIM card for my iPhone4?

Thx
*
Yes you can. But on iPad it will serve as data only and on iPhone you can use it for both calls and data

ksc, so multisim kenot pulak?

btw, i tried my microsim for ipad in my iphone, kenot make calls

I spoke to their CS manager and his superior also. They don't seem to offer the multi sim for sharing of data usage.

But since they gave me wrong info earlier and wasted my time going maxis center, they decided to compensate me with some discounts

Hi, our apologies on this. We wld like to affirm that U can share the data on multi SIM. Cld U also pls clarify who attended to U & when?

Why is this happening to me? I had a lengthy arguement with their centre and CS managers anc they refuse to agree that such service exist.
They even went to an extend to offer me a waiver for my bills as their CS guy gave me a wrong info earlier.

I think (just my 2 cents) telco like maxis or digi not bringing ipad officially to malaysia maybe because ipad is not a mobile phone (something that can make call) to utilize telco's plan. It just an internet device such as macbook or netbook to them.
*
the telcos got nothing to with bringing in iPads, they just provide the data plan.

Anyone know where can i get this checked at?
*
you can claim warranty in SG as iPad has international warranty.

I guess the iBooks just failed to work on me this afternoon, I will need to have a backup copy in my PC later on to avoid similar incident again. sweat.gif laugh.gif

Added on October 8, 2010, 5:43 pmAny way that I can watch series on ABC channel without being in the US? unsure.gif

you have to subscribe to VPN to watch ABC on your ipad. But at certain Starbucks, you can watch without VPN on your iPad.
