QUOTE(doctorpopcorn @ Aug 12 2010, 11:04 PM) I just got a 32GB iPad WiFi + 3G. I know Maxis offers microSIM but that would mean I have to subscribe to another data plan. I have an existing 3GB data plan for my iPhone. Can I use the Maxis multi-sim and get a microSIM but share my 3GB data plan? Is it possible? Use digi prepaid Internet, cut it in micro sim size. Rm2 a day. So Rm60 equal to 30 days. I use it and realize it can last around 32-34 days with rm 60. Besides, you can remain unsubscribed for up to 90 days. Reload, just like normal reload, buy normal prepaid 10, 30, 60. Maxis sucks on its iPad data plan. |

QUOTE(Agito666 @ Aug 13 2010, 09:35 AM) Don't buy. I destroy mine. It is really insensative If ur iPad has screen protector. If u really need one. You can DIY. get a conductive foam (u can get it from usual comp component packaging), and tuck a small pcs of it into emptied pen body. U can google for video instruct. |

QUOTE(Agito666 @ Aug 13 2010, 10:16 AM) i already pulled my screen protector years ago from my ipod touch and just leave it.(i was using zagg screen protector, but feel unconfortable, feel sticky...although is military grade.) Finger is still my preference, I purchased pogo and tot it gonna help when using brushes/sketch book app (itouch and iPad). However, pogo disappointed me. Finger gives you more flexibility. Pogo has bulky point head, which is inaccurate to capture your sketch than ur finger do.after pull the screen protector , i feel my ipod slim a lot >_<... the reason i ask the pogo stylus is wanted to know that stuff is nice to draw or not...since using finger and pen drawing is 2 different things. (and usually i think if i ask this kind question in ipod touch thread i think no people will answer that...ipad thread got more rich people testing new stuff here XD) Added on August 15, 2010, 5:04 pm QUOTE(Nitrous @ Aug 13 2010, 05:21 PM) @ stringfellow Use digi limited edition internet cut in to micro sim size, approximately rm 60 a month 15 GB data. Cheapest package in town. 3G turbo speed apporx 4++ mb sped. It is a prepaid service, can remain unsubscribe for as long as 90 days. Thanks a lot for the reply. The Digi sim is normally used for data, although calls are sometimes put through on it. I presume the Ipad will not support GSM voice even though the Digi sim allows it, is it correct? Thus will I lose the GSM call capability if I use on Ipad? Thanks for the advice. This post has been edited by jamesheng3: Aug 15 2010, 05:04 PM |

QUOTE(hapeace @ Aug 16 2010, 09:28 AM) holy disaster.. fedex guy just call me. told me i have to apply for sirim permit for the device. what the heck is that. can somebody help me regarding this matter? total fark... Fly over to Singapore with firefly is cheaper than courier services send from Singapore. At least, no uncertainty. Even can get more unit for sales.now its clear... not single courier service exempted from import permit thingy and custom tax thingy. its the matter of luck whether you kena or not.. my friend already declare that ipad as 'electronic device' - personal gift. but still kena. damnnnn. just now sending email to fedex to return the ipad to my friend in singapore. will self collect then.. or maybe anyone have better idea? Added on August 16, 2010, 4:56 pm QUOTE(badbigboys @ Aug 16 2010, 01:37 PM) Hows digi coverage outside town. Im using celcom prepaid data plan and it working well my hometown at bp. Im also thinking bout digi data plan but most i've heard its not really good outside KL. Rectify? Im using digi, in small town no good. Exellence in big town and city. U can see it coverage via its website, it will show a google map and type of coverage(edge,3G) available.Added on August 16, 2010, 5:05 pm QUOTE(karwaidotnet @ Aug 16 2010, 12:37 PM) ahh...bummer. i just subscribed to the Digi postpaid plan instead. RM68 per month wif only 3GB quota. which they will throttle my speed after breaching the limit. Yes you should, prepaid or post paid the speed/stability is same. Both use the so called digi 3G turbo. It gives you more flex.and you can remain unsubscribe fore. 90 days. This is especially useful when you are out of country or arenot using ur pad for 1 or 2 month.somemore no tax. Reload is simple , I always buy rm30 reload. It could last for 17 days actually. So rm60 can last me more than a month. i went for the postpaid coz the salesguy told me the prepaid speed is slower and not so stable...and i didnt know the quota for prepaid is counted on daily basis instead... do u think i can convert the postpaid plan to prepaid? It only cost rm25 to purchase the sim. It will last for 5 days if Im not mistaken, reload it after that. I think they hav cooling off period, so you can cancel your purchase. i went for the postpaid coz the salesguy told me the prepaid speed is slower and not so stable...and i didnt know the quota for prepaid is counted on daily basis instead... do u think i can convert the postpaid plan to prepaid? There is 7-day trial/refund for plan without modem. I presume you don't take the modem. So you can cancel. Tell them you are unsatisfy with it's stability, always drop. QUOTE(Agito666 @ Aug 17 2010, 10:26 AM) unfortunately their touch screen don't have pressure sensitivity...they only can do is using the speed of the stroke to make the stroke smoother. oh well, it is not drawing tablet..but good enough for that. I prefer brushes over sketchbook. Sketchbook a bit lagging.Btw pressure sensitive is possible on iPad http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgTcyjzXfTg This post has been edited by jamesheng3: Aug 17 2010, 11:11 AM |

QUOTE(karwaidotnet @ Aug 17 2010, 10:47 AM) i downloaded this app for note taking by handwriting...but using my own finger doesnt seems right. is this pogo stylus my only option? coz i think some forumer here commented it being not so good? for Ipad:kindly advice. thanks note taking with finger sucks. using pogo double sucks. i prefer typing. - the best note taking app = Noterize - full of useful functions. combination of typing and writing options Added on August 17, 2010, 11:14 amhttp://www.pcworld.com/article/202392/rims_blackpad_tablet_why_itll_succeed_why_it_wont.html RIM will have their own tablet? QUOTE(Jerm_vii @ Aug 17 2010, 07:20 PM) Yeah, though limited, it still has its uses for business. It seems to me iPad is more on media consumption, entertainment and communication potable platform. However, it's business application, although limited, is undeniable. I agree it is a toy, but it can be book, education material, library, productivity tools, magazine, spend-time-with-ur-kids tools, etc. Touch screen tool like iPad has it's limitation, so do keyboard based platform. Not necessary to be so skeptical. Enjoy your iPad... Of course, to generate documents using productivity apps like iWorks, keynotes, or numbers, there are limitations but it can be done. |

QUOTE(karwaidotnet @ Aug 18 2010, 11:24 PM) I do. I work for mutual Fund comp, and they have bloomberg pro. So they provide free monthly bloomberg mag via zinio. And I also downloaded few free copies of their mags. Sort of disappointed. It's lagging. I prefer those standalone mag apps like time mag, Wired, etc..more interactive. Added on August 19, 2010, 10:28 amapp: Discover Good app, give wiki the feel of magazine. Highly recommended. QUOTE(jonest @ Aug 19 2010, 08:24 PM) Just got myself the maxis prepaid card, intend to cut it into micro sim and place it into the iPad and subscribe tod the 3G services on daily basis at rm8/- per day. How do you subscribe it especially when the card is inside the iPad? Use digi prepaid. Rm 2 per day, average speed = 470kbps tested around klang valley. The speed reasonable and stable. For maxis I have no idea, but digi is plug n play. For reload, just use phone to type certain procedure with prepaid card no. |
