I just got a 32GB iPad WiFi + 3G. I know Maxis offers microSIM but that would mean I have to subscribe to another data plan. I have an existing 3GB data plan for my iPhone. Can I use the Maxis multi-sim and get a microSIM but share my 3GB data plan? Is it possible?

No. Multi-SIM is not applicable for Micro-SIM. Have tp take another plan for the Micro-SIM. Or just by a Prepaid =)

Ok. What if I got another mini SIM using multi-SIM and chopped that DIY into a micro-SIM. Would it be able to share my 3GB data plan?

Ok so many people have been recommending DiGi prepaid data. I have that Limited Edition Turbo 3G starter pack lying around so I'm going to use that for my iPad. Thing is, should I try cutting it myself? Is it easy? Or should I spend my money on buying a SIM cutter?

Please advise.

you mean we have to cut it ourselves? if we give the Digi people to do it, will they?
*
So far Maxis are the only ones who offer micro-SIMs. DiGi have yet to offer. And I doubt very much that they'd cut their own SIM card for you. Lol.

now it seems like my iPad wifi feels like a bigger iPod touch. opting to change it to a 3g one. anyone thinks this will make a major difference in my usage of the iPad? now im kinda losing interest in the iPad. sad.gif

IMO, an iPad is loses 75% of its functionality without internet connection. This thing feeeeeds off the Internet. Sure you can play games and watch videos without Internet. But all the cool stuff like Flipboard, Twitter apps, RSS readers etc. can't be used without Internet.

That's my reasoning for getting the 3G iPad. MUST be connected all the time.

hey guys,

i am currently using my ipad as a supp. device to check email and as an rss receiver. since i am just going to leave it in the office all the time.....should i

1)keep charging it (plugged in) all the time

or

2)remove the plug once it is 100% charged and then recharge again when the battery is low

which method will prolong the lifetime of the battery?
*
Most definitely option 2. Never keep it plugged in all the time.

Is it possible to top up DiGi credit via their website? If it's possible then it would be more convenient compared to asking other people to top up for me.

My personal experience of dealing with Maxis regarding multi-SIM data sharing:

Attempt 1: Called CS. Said CANNOT share data between two SIM cards. Must select one SIM card as the 'primary' one.

Attempt 2: Had a VERY lengthy Twitter DM conversation with @maxislistens regarding the matter. They had to beat around the bush and it's like they had no idea and simply give me an answer. In the end they told me CAN share data.

Attempt 3: Went to Maxis Center. Fella said CANNOT share data. I was so fed up I didn't argue or whatever with him.

I ended up cutting a DiGi prepaid Internet SIM card. Now paying RM2 per day. Happy so far.

Hey guys, may I know when do you charge your iPad?
I only charge mine after the 20% notification pops-up, is that right or wrong?
Thanks in advance.

That should be fine. But it is recommended that you completely discharge the battery once a month.

I use airvideo to convert. Or you can use OPlayer HD to upload the video in their native format and watch them on ipad.
*
I have problems with Air Video. Sometimes it lags when streaming and sometimes the video just doesn't play. Anybody else with problems with Air Video? Also, the frame rate on OPlayer HD is really poor. My videos always stutter.
